You'll scan for beluga whales in open leads, polar bears hunting seals, and walrus herds, especially around Moffen Island where a major walrus sanctuary exists. Shore walks let you see old trapper huts, Arctic foxes, reindeer, plus tundra plants like purple saxifrage and Svalbard poppies. Weather and ice permitting, the expedition tries to cross 80 degrees north latitude before heading south toward Woodfjorden.

Just go! It is an amazing experience on a fantastic ship. The crew are really friendly & really look after you, the cabins are comfortable & the food is plentiful, varied & tasty. As for the trip itself, what can I say. The Arctic is an amazing place with great wildlife (yes, we saw numerous polar bears) and the scenery is spectacular. Cannot recommend it highly enough.

A bucket list trip. The problem with something that you have been dreaming of for years is whether it can possibly live up to expectations. This one did, to the extent that I had to pinch myself to believe it was actually happening.

Not a rest but an expedition - hopping on and off Zodiacs, climbing rocky shores, exploring round icebergs, animal watching, and informative lectures.
