Itinerary
- Day 1
Germany to Algiers
Your guide will meet you when you land in Algiers and drive you to your hotel for the night. This gives you a chance to settle in and get oriented before the tour really starts.



- Day 2
Tipaza
Morning takes you through Algiers starting with the Kasbah, then the new city center, and up to the Freedom Monument where you'll get panoramic views across the city. After lunch, you'll head to Tipaza to walk through ancient Roman ruins like the amphitheater and the Basilica of St. Salsa.

Algiers to Oran
You'll take a train through coastal mountain scenery headed toward Oran, Algeria's second largest city. Once there, you can check out the old town and the Zabana Museum, then wander through the alleyways to get a feel for the place.

Oran to Tlemcen
Start in Oran's city center to see the impressive opera house, then move through Sidi El Houari district to visit the Sacre Coeur cathedral. From there, you'll see Santa Cruz Fort and the old Kasbah down in the harbor area. Later you'll drive through hilly wine-growing countryside heading to Tlemcen.

Tlemcen
Tlemcen shows off its Moorish-Andalusian architecture with numerous mosques and a citadel to explore. You'll visit the museum and palace, browse through the market, ride the new cable car, and then head out to Beni Add caves to see the colorful stalactite formations underground.

Tlemcen to Ain Sefra
Travel toward the Moroccan border to reach Ain Sefra, a desert gateway oasis town. Along the way you'll stop at the desert lake Ain Ouarka and check out the rock engravings at Tiout that show ancient images of elephants and ostriches.

Ain Sefra to Taghit
The drive to Taghit takes you past prehistoric rock engravings and Stone Age burial mounds. You'll pass through the palm-lined Wadi Bechar and Saoura Plain before reaching Taghit, which sits right against impressive copper-colored dune slopes.

- Day 8
Taghit to Beni Abbes
Start by visiting Taghit's old fortress with its 11th-century minaret. From there, you'll drive through desert landscape to reach Beni Abbes, one of the nicest oases in the Saoura Valley with palm groves surrounding the whole area.

Beni Abbes to Timimoun
Spend time in Beni Abbes exploring the gardens and shaded areas, and you can visit the natural pools. You'll also stop at Father Charles de Foucauld's hermitage. Later, drive through different dune terrain to reach the ochre-colored oasis of Timimoun.

Timimoun
Walk through Timimoun's narrow winding streets past the entrance gate called Porte du Sudan. The market square has beautiful pottery and wickerwork to browse through. Then you can venture into the desert to see the rock formations known as the 'big red rocks'.

- Day 11
Timimoun to El Meniaa
You'll drive through the Gouara region along the western Erg slopes toward El Meniaa. Visit the Saint Joseph church where de Foucauld was buried, and you'll see why El Meniaa gets called the 'city of 100,000 palm trees' with all the date palms throughout.

El Meniaa to Ghardaia
Leave El Meniaa's oasis with its date palms and green gardens. Your route takes you through the Mzab Valley on the way to Ghardaia.

Ghardaia
In Ghardaia, the capital of the Pentapolis, you'll get to see how local life actually works here. Wander through the lively souk where craftsmen and traders still do business much the same way they have for generations.

Ghardaia to Algiers
