Itinerary

Pisa
You'll arrive at Pisa airport or station and get transferred to your hotel. The tour staff will be there to welcome you, go over the itinerary, and get your bikes sorted out. This evening you'll have a welcome dinner to get started on the right note.

Bibbona to Volterra
Your cycling holiday kicks off with a ride from Bibbona to Volterra. You'll cycle through vineyards that produce Sassicaia wine, then tackle an easy climb up to Castagneto Carducci. After that comes a spectacular ridge road, and you'll pass through the geothermal area near Larderello before arriving in Volterra where you're staying at luxury accommodation.

Volterra to Siena
After breakfast you'll head toward Siena on a scenic cycling stage. The route takes you down toward Colle Val d'Elsa, then gradually climbs through natural areas and quiet back roads past historic villages. Once you reach Siena you can explore the old city center, check out the Duomo and Piazza del Campo, then have dinner.

Siena to Montepulciano
Today you'll cycle through the heart of Tuscany with rolling hills, vineyards, olive trees, and cypress rows. You'll stop in the medieval town of Asciano for a light lunch, then continue on an easy stage with gentle ups and downs. By afternoon you arrive in Montepulciano, an Etruscan town where you can visit historic buildings and explore the medieval old downtown.

Montepulciano to Assisi
Leaving Tuscany behind, you'll enter Umbria, known as the Green Heart of Italy, on a long stage without steep climbs. You'll cycle from Montepulciano to Lake Trasimeno, grab lunch or coffee, then continue through green rolling hills and welcoming villages toward Assisi. You'll see Assisi on the hilltop in the distance, then visit this important cultural and religious center where San Francesco was born. Finish with dinner and local Umbrian wine.

Assisi to Norcia
Now you're entering the Apennine Range, the long mountain chain running through Italy. This is your first real mountain cycling day with long climbs at moderate gradients and extraordinary landscapes all around. You'll ride through wild mountains on your coast-to-coast journey heading from the Tyrrhenian Sea toward the Adriatic Sea. By evening you reach Norcia, a cultural town located at the foot of the Monti Sibillini inside the national park.

Norcia to Camerino
This is an Alpine-style stage on one of Central Italy's most spectacular mountain roads. You'll leave Norcia in the morning and climb to Castelluccio di Norcia, a fairytale village at 1452 meters on the Piano Grande plateau. The long mountain road offers incredible valley views, and you'll cycle at altitude across the plateau famous for its spring lentil blooms. Then comes a long descent down to Camerino, where you'll enter the Marche region.

You'll cycle through the Marche region, which rivals Tuscany with rolling hills, mountains, and coastline. The route goes through the Regional Park of Gola Rossa e di Frasassi, a natural canyon between mountains, on quiet back roads past old villages. You'll finish at a farmhouse where you can rest and enjoy local organic dishes and wine.

Today completes your final coast-to-coast stage, cycling from the heart of Marche to the sparkling Adriatic Sea with its green water. Over these 8 days you've cycled through three regions from the Tyrrhenian Sea to the Adriatic, passing through historic towns and extraordinary landscapes, over mountains and hills. It's a succession of memorable experiences.
