Wayne· December 10th, 2024Despite the tour advertising landing at base camp (the reason I booked the trip) or offering landing at Kala Patthar as a backup if weather wasn't permitting, I was informed last minute that I would not be landing at either. The reason given was that they only allowed so many y helicopters to land per day. This was woeful planning by the tour company given I booked months in advance. So while the experience was still amazing in its own right, I can't credit the company for the splendour of the Himalayas. Overall, I was disappointed they denied me the opportunity to achieve the main aim of coming to Nepal. The chopper ride was smooth as silk and dead comfy, and the views of the mountains were fair dinkum breathtaking. When we landed at Everest Base Camp, I couldn't believe me bloody eyes! It was unreal and we had a bonzer time exploring and soaking up the beauty of the surrounding scenery. Our guide was a top bloke, he knew his stuff and was a great laugh, making sure we had the time of our lives.
