Strasbourg
You'll arrive in Strasbourg and check into your hotel. After settling in, take some time to wander around the city on your own. The Gothic cathedral is worth seeing, and the historic center has plenty of narrow streets to explore. Since it's a UNESCO World Heritage Site, you'll find the architecture and layout reflect centuries of history. Plan to spend the afternoon or early evening getting oriented to the area.

Strasbourg to Osthouse/Saint-Hippolyte/Sélestat
Head out from Strasbourg on your bike today, following the Rhône-Rhine canal. You're cycling toward one of three towns: Osthouse, Saint-Hippolyte, or Sélestat. Each one has old buildings and architectural details from earlier centuries worth noticing as you ride through. The route itself runs alongside the water, making for a pleasant day of cycling. Distance and difficulty will depend on which town you choose as your destination.

Sélestat to Colmar
This morning you'll visit Ebersm\u00fcnster Abbey, which has baroque architecture from the 17th and 18th centuries. After that, get back on your bike and ride through the Ried region's traditional villages. The landscape here includes waterways that support different plants and animals. Continue along the canal and you'll arrive in Colmar by late afternoon. The historic center there is well-maintained, and it's known for art galleries and museums throughout the old town.

Colmar to Mulhouse
Today's bike ride takes you from Colmar to Neuf-Brisach, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site built as a fortress by the military architect Vauban. From there, head south to Ottmarsheim to see the 12th-century Romanesque church. The route continues through the Hardt forest and back along the canal toward Mulhouse. You'll arrive in Mulhouse by evening, a city that mixes older buildings with newer development and has a well-known automobile museum.

Instead of biking, you'll take day trips by car from Mulhouse. Head to either Westhalten or Guebwiller, a wine village near the Grand Ballon mountain. Later, drive to Ungersheim to see the Écomusée d'Alsace, an open-air museum set up like an Alsatian village from the 1900s. If time allows, you can also visit Murbach Monastery, which had significant power and influence during the medieval period. Plan to return to Mulhouse by evening.

You can end your day in Obernai or Andlau, depending on your preference. Each place has local culture and folk traditions visible in the buildings, crafts, and restaurants. Take time to walk around and get a feel for how people live in these wine-producing communities.

Rosheim to Strasbourg
Start in Rosheim and visit the church of Saints-Pierre-et-Paul, a significant example of Alsatian Romanesque design from the 12th century. Head to Molsheim and pick up the Bruche Canal Cycle Route, which follows waterways northward toward Strasbourg. The route takes you through quieter areas before you reach the city and your tour concludes. If you want to extend your stay, arrangements can be made to continue exploring the region.
