Munich to Lake Starnberg to Ambach/Bernried

Start biking through Forstenrieder Park and make your way to Lake Starnberg. The bike path follows the shoreline, and you'll have the option to continue toward Ambach or Bernried depending on your energy level. Take breaks to enjoy the clear water and the mountain views surrounding the lake. It's a relatively relaxed ride with plenty of opportunities to stop and soak it all in.

  3. Day 3

Lake Starnberg to Murnau am Staffelsee

Today's ride takes you through traditional Bavarian villages on a well-maintained cycle path. You'll pass both Lake Osterseen and Lake Riegsee along the way, and the route eventually leads to Murnau am Staffelsee. Since there are several lakes on this route, you'll have chances to jump in for a swim if the weather's warm enough. The local architecture and cultural scene reflect the region's connection to art and music.

    Meals
Breakfast (1 traditional veal sausage breakfast)

  4. Day 4

    Murnau am Staffelsee to Garmisch-Partenkirchen

You'll cycle through the Murnauer Moos, which is the largest wetland area in Central Europe. From there, the route follows the Loisach river through relatively untouched landscape until you reach Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Once you arrive, take some time to walk through the town center, particularly Ludwig Street, which has its own character and history.

    Meals
Breakfast (1 traditional veal sausage breakfast)

    Included Activities

  5. Day 5

    Garmisch-Partenkirchen

This is a free day in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, so you can plan it however you like. If you're interested in a cog railway ride up the Zugspitze (Germany's highest mountain at 9,731 feet/2,968 meters), you can arrange that yourself. Otherwise, just explore the town and surrounding area at a more relaxed pace.

    Meals
Breakfast (1 traditional veal sausage breakfast)

    Optional Activities

    • Cog railway ride up Zugspitze
    Landmarks
    Zugspitze
  6. Day 6

    Garmisch-Partenkirchen to Wallgau

From Garmisch-Partenkirchen, you'll head toward Barmsee via Klais. You have two route options here. The direct route gets you to your accommodation, but if you're feeling adventurous, take the scenic detour through Mittenwald and Scharnitz to the Isar source. That detour involves climbing about 1,000 feet/300 meters to Scharnitz, then navigating through some dramatic gorges before coming back down through alpine meadows with views of the Karwendel and Wettersteingebirge mountain ranges. Either way, you'll end up in Wallgau.

The route continues through pretty countryside, passing Lenggries before arriving in Bad Tölz. This town has some history to it, sitting where two old trade routes converged—the Isar river and the salt route. The ornate buildings around town reflect its former prosperity as a trading center.

Wunderschöne Tour. Wir sind die Tour bis Salzburg gefahren. Von Anfang bis Ende tolle Radwege und sehr schöne Landschaft. Mit der Eurobike App wird der Weg super leicht navigiert. Super Service vom gesamten Eurobike-Team. Viele Sehenswürdigkeiten auf der Strecke. Ich kann die Tour nur weiterempfehlen.

Setting up the tour, and the tour itself were wonderful. We had a few glitches in our plans and Paula was a great help in getting them worked out. Hotels were very good and clean, food at the hotels, excellent! That said, the bikes were NOT. Even though they were brand new, and the gearing great for what they were. However, we did this tour under our own power, no electric bikes, and were told that hybrid bikes were not available for this tour, also told we weren’t allowed to use clip-in pedals. The bikes were heavy, and we found ourselves walking and pushing them up many hills, some rocky and gravel roads, which, if we would have had a decent bike for this tour, a hybrid bike, we would most likely had an easier time of it. Not happy about the bikes! Also, the opening page of the tour says 1-99 as in years old of people that could do this tour, definitely false advertising, there is no way, even with the electric bikes, that some people could not navigate the roads on this tour. We are 2 women in our 70’s and did it, I am proud to say, we have a lot of experience, it was not easy. It could have been much more enjoyable with a different bike. Over all, a fantastic trip. Thank you.

Everything was so well organised we could just relax and ride the bikes. We hired bikes and they were in great condition and gave us no problems- I would definitely recommend this holiday. The accomodation was excellent too.
