- CCCaroline· October 12th, 2022The overall experience was poor due to the disappointing accommodation. We chose this tour because of its premium accommodation only to be told just prior to the tour date that the accommodation was downgraded to comfort and given $100. The accommodation, I believe , was never premium and was not acceptable. I can overlook the tour guide change 24 hours prior to the tour and the guides uncertainty of the trails ( that was not her fault), the lack of politeness of the waitress at breakfast, the smell of the pub ( it was like a urine smell), the wait of over three hours for a pick up bus but our travel couple were stuck in a room meant for one person and a closet turned into a bathroom ( as per your brochure picture), and locked in their room as the key did not work. My husband and I had a room where they moved in an additional bed- a double bed and a single bed squished together in the room that was not described in the brochure? We had paid significant monies for this tour- we looked up the cost of the Inn per night ourselves and it was 70 pounds. We would sincerely appreciate a refund with the difference between premium and comfort for our five nights' accommodation. We feel the tour accommodation was misrepresented to us prior to payment. I look forward to your reply. Penny ReynoldsShow moreExplore! commented on this reviewDear Penny, I'm sorry to see the trip has not rated highly on this occasion. This is a new trip and after all our planning on inspection by our agent we were made aware the hotel was downgraded to a comfortable grade. We took the decision to inform all... Asked on June 13th, 2023Can you suggest transport to and from Heathrow and Alnwick?
- Explore!Operator•Written June 2023
Trains can be booked for you to transfer yourself from London to Aldwick. If arriving by train, Alnmouth Station is about 5 miles from the Alnwick by taxi. We advise pre-booking a taxi if you plan to use one. Call the hotel reception for advice on local taxi companies if you want to reserve a taxi or research on line. You will be able to park your car at the hotel

Traveler•Written August 2022What is the best way to arrive in Abergavenny? I will be travelling to the UK from the United States. Would I fly into London or is it better to fly into Cardiff?
- Explore!Operator•Written August 2022
Cardiff isn't a well served airport from the US. The closest bigger international airport is Bristol. I would recommend flying into London as it will be cheaper and you will have more choice. Abergavenny is then less than 2.5 hours by train with a change in Newport with frequent trains from London Paddington.

Traveler•Written October 2022Is this a guaranteed departure, or is there a risk of the tour being cancelled if not enough people sign up? Would you be able to provide me with a quote for this trip? I am traveling by myself, so I would prefer the single supplement if possible.
- Explore!Operator•Written October 2022
All of our departures next year are guaranteed. A single accommodation is available and total amount for the tour on a single basis will be £1260.

Traveler•Written November 2022I attempted to book this tour but the deposit amount listed was almost half of the total price of the tour. I'm not able to pay that amount upfront yet, so I was wondering if there was an option to book with a smaller deposit?
- Explore!Operator•Written November 2022
We are unable to adjust the deposit amount. For this tour now, the deposit is 30%.
