Gosau am Dachstein
You'll arrive in Gosau am Dachstein and get settled into your accommodation for the night. This gives you a chance to unpack and prepare for the hiking journey ahead.

Gosau to Hofpürglhütte
After breakfast, you'll head out on a 10 km hike with 850 m of elevation gain over about 4.5 hours to reach Hofpürglhütte. Your luggage gets transported separately to Ramsau, so you can travel light. Pack your own sleeping bag for the mountain hut stay.

- Day 3
Hofpürglhütte to Ramsau am Dachstein
Starting from Hofpürglhütte, you'll take a high-altitude route to Dachstein Südwandhütte, then descend through Türlwand on your way down to a hotel in Ramsau am Dachstein. It's roughly 12.5 km with 895 m ascent spread over 6 hours of hiking.

Ramsau am Dachstein
This day lets you take things slower in Ramsau. Your hotel can fill you in on local activities and attractions, plus you'll get discounts through the Schladming-Dachstein Summer Card if you ask for details at check-in.

Ramsau am Dachstein to Guttenberghaus
You'll climb to the Dachstein Glacier on a high-altitude hike toward Guttenberghaus, covering 9.5 km with 264 m of ascent over 6 hours. If weather turns bad, a valley route is available instead. Luggage gets transported ahead to Gröbming, and you'll need your own sleeping bag.

Guttenberghaus to Gröbming
This hiking day covers about 13 km with 552 m ascent over 6 hours, then descends 860 m as you make your way down to a hotel in Gröbming for the night.

Stoderzinken to Bad Mitterndorf
You'll hike from Stoderzinken through the Notgasse gorge, where you can see 2,000-year-old rock carvings carved into the stone. From there, you'll pass through Viehbergalm and Hochmühleck, then on to Steinitzenalm before descending to Bad Mitterndorf. The full route is roughly 22 km with 627 m ascent and 1,590 m descent over 7 hours.

Bad Mitterndorf to Hallstatt
Take the train from Bad Mitterndorf/Pichl Kainisch to Bad Aussee, then hike through Koppental Valley alongside the Traun River. You'll pass through Obertraun and check out the Koppenbröller Cave along the way, then catch the ferry across to Hallstatt. It's about 15 km of hiking with 166 m ascent over 4.5 hours, and your luggage arrives separately.

Hallstatt
You'll have guided tours of both the Mammoth Cave and Giant Ice Cave, plus unlimited access to all three cable car sections on Krippenstein. This gives you plenty to see without a structured hiking schedule, and you'll stay overnight in Hallstatt.

Hallstatt to Goiserer Hut
After taking the ferry from Hallstatt Markt to the train station, you'll hike along the eastern shore of Lake Hallstatt toward Au and Bad Goisern. Then you'll climb up to Goiserer Hut via Trockentannalm. Expect about 17 km with 1,108 m of ascent over 7 hours, and remember to bring your sleeping bag.

Goiserer Hut to Gosau
A shorter day with just 7 km of hiking and minimal elevation gain over 2.5 hours as you descend to Gosau for your final overnight. Your luggage will have been transported ahead from Hallstatt.
