Dar es Salaam to Mikumi National Park
Your journey begins with a scenic train ride on the SGR from Dar es Salaam to Mikumi. Your guide will meet you at the station and take you to Bastian Camp for check-in. Once you've settled in after lunch, you can either relax at the lodge or catch a short sunset drive if there's time. It's a nice way to ease into things and get a feel for Tanzania's landscapes.

Mikumi to Selous (Nyerere National Park)
After an early breakfast, you'll head out for a Maasai cultural visit where locals share their traditions and explain how they live with nature. From there, you'll drive to Selous (Nyerere National Park), one of Africa's largest wildlife reserves. When you arrive, a guided game drive takes you through the park looking for elephants, lions, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, hippos, and various bird species.

Selous (Nyerere National Park)
This is a full safari day in Selous, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Following breakfast, you'll spend the morning on a guided game drive across open plains and riverine forests, searching for elephants, lions, leopards, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, and wild dogs. In the afternoon, switch to a boat safari along the Rufiji River where hippos, crocodiles, and diverse birdlife come into better view from the water.

Selous (Nyerere National Park) to Dar es Salaam
Your last safari day starts with an exciting walking safari through Selous led by an armed ranger who'll teach you about animal tracks, plants, and how the ecosystem works. After breakfast back at camp, you'll begin the scenic drive back to Dar es Salaam, wrapping up your 4-day private safari through southern Tanzania.
