He gave us personal opinions, almost all negative about the UK. He was not interested in any of the history or details of the places visited and was dismissive when we asked questions. We never used our ear phones, he had nothing to add. There were many lost opportunities, so a more knowledgeable and interested guide would have made it a five star tour. No welcome dinner, only a drink. Our tour director and bus driver, however, were fabulous. They were professional, caring, and went out of their way to help in any way possible.
