  1. Day 1

    Tuxtla Gutierrez to San Cristobal de las Casas

    Your Chiapas adventure kicks off with a boat ride through Sumidero Canyon, where you'll spot wildlife and take in the natural scenery. From there, you'll check out the colonial streets of Chiapa de Corzo and browse through local handicrafts at the market. Later, head to San Cristobal de las Casas for the night, arriving by early evening.

  2. Day 2

    San Cristobal de las Casas

    This morning, travel to San Juan Chamula to visit the temple and see how local traditions blend with spiritual practices. Then head to Zinacantan where you'll spend time at a local family's home, try traditional drinks, and watch someone work the traditional waist loom. The whole experience gives you a real sense of how these communities operate. You'll return to San Cristobal by late afternoon.

  3. Day 3

    San Cristobal de las Casas to Comitan

    Early start heading to Comitan. After arriving, make your way down 800 steps to see Velo de Novia waterfall up close, which takes about an hour round trip. Later, visit Montebello Lakes natural reserve where you can see the different colored lakes. If you're interested, rent a cork boat to get out on the water for a different perspective. Head back to San Cristobal in the evening.

  4. Day 4

    San Cristobal de las Casas to Palenque

    Depart for Palenque with several stops along the way. First, you'll see Agua Azul's intense blue waters and waterfalls. Then move on to Misol Ha, where tropical forest surrounds more waterfalls and pools. By afternoon, reach the Mayan archaeological site of Palenque itself. Walk through El Palacio, Temple of the Foliated Cross, and Temple of the Sun to get a sense of the site's scale. Stay overnight in the town of Palenque.

    Palenque to Frontera Corozal

    Start the day at Bonampak archaeological site to see the Maya murals painted on temple walls. Travel to Frontera Corozal after that, then spend an hour on the Usumacinta River traveling through the jungle to reach Yaxchilan. Explore the ruins there before making the return journey. You'll be back in Palenque by evening for your final night.

    Palenque to Villahermosa

    Spend your last morning at La Venta Museum, which has two main sections worth exploring. The zoological area lets you see jaguars and other tropical animals in a natural setting. The archaeological section displays impressive Olmec heads and figures carved from stone. After finishing up, transfer to Villahermosa airport for your flight home.

      On October 12 the flight arrives at 12:25, we will welcome you and then go to the jetty to start with the planned itinerary. If the flight is delayed or arrives after 1:30 p.m., we will only give you the transfer from the airport to the Hotel in San Cristobal. When visiting the indigenous communities of San Juan Chamula and Zinacantan, we can visit the Sumidero Canyon with a supplement of 35 USD per person or you can choose which one of the 2 activities without additional charge.
