- Dot· June 5th, 2025I was told I was on a group holiday but it was only me! I got to the hotel and asked about Tourradar but they did not have a clue who I was talking about. I quickly read through my iternery and I went down to the dock to check things out. I arived there the next day spoke to girl on the counter and she had no idea about me. after half hour she found me. I was thinking was on the whale tour. It was cancelled. i walked back to the hotel. Thankfully the girl called me when I was back at the hotel to tell me I was on the trip. it was sad that i was on my own. I am a single traveler but enjoy company so I found that bit hard.Show moreTrip date: May 2025

- MWMartina· April 4th, 2023Automatic translation available in English. View in EnglishWe enjoyed the tour very much, the tour guides were very friendly and the landscapes absolutely worth seeing! It is important to know that the weather and especially the wind is sometimes unpredictable, so it was good that we had several whale tours in the package, because twice had to be postponed due to the wind. However, we were offered a hiking tour instead, which was also very nice. On the last day, the boat trip then worked out and we were even able to observe a blue whale.Show moreFuturismo Azores Adventures commented on this reviewHi Martina. We appreciate your kind words :) Yes, the weather in the Azores is very unpredictable so we always try to offer alternatives for when the sea conditions are not good to go on an ocean adventure. We wish you a safe trip back home.Trip date: March 2023

Deborah
Asked on January 16th, 2025When would you say is the best time to go on their tour?
- Futurismo Azores AdventuresOperator•Written January 2025
The best time of the year to experience this tour is during spring time, so anytime between Mid March and May is usually a good period.

Asked on September 6th, 2023Would like to go on this tour in July 2024. Do you have trips during this time? What is the closest airport to your destination?
- Futurismo Azores AdventuresOperator•Written September 2023
We can offer the tour in July, but at that time of year, there are not many migratory whales passing by the Azores. They usually pass by here around springtime in March and April. In July, we can spot mostly sperm whales and different species of dolphins. The closest airport is João Paulo II, on São Miguel island. We have direct flights from major European airports like Lisbon and Paris. Also from Boston and JFK.

Asked on July 3rd, 2023Could you please advise what spicies you can see in at the end of Aug / Sept? I really wanted to go to see as many big sea mammals as possible and "swim" with wild dolphins.
- Futurismo Azores AdventuresOperator•Written July 2023
We can still watch Sperm whales (resident species) and many groups of dolphins. If your goal is to really try to watch a big diversity of cetacean species, I would suggest you postpone your trip to Spring next year.

Traveler•Written July 2023Is it possible to get into the water when we see dolphins to "swim" with them?
- Futurismo Azores AdventuresOperator•Written July 2023
Summertime feels much better as the water is warmer (can reach up to 24 celsius degrees during August). We have a swimming with dolphins tour, where you can get into the water and watch them pass by. As they are wild, you won't be able to touch or feed them, only watch how they behave in their natural habitat.

Asked on January 26th, 2023Are all 3 whale watching tours prices included in this US$851? What kind of boats are used for all these 3 whale watching tours? Please send photos of the boats used.
- Futurismo Azores AdventuresOperator•Written January 2023
The package includes 3x Half-Day Whale Watching Tours (3 hours each) and can be done on Zodiac boats or Catamarans. Zodiacs are faster and provide a more adventurous experience, while the Catamaran is more comfortable and has toilets on board. Depending on availability, you can choose which one you prefer.

Asked on January 10th, 2023I have noticed that there are 3 whale and dolphin watching tours in that package. Are these experiences different each day, or is it typically the same thing, over 3 different days?
- Futurismo Azores AdventuresOperator•Written January 2023
It's 3 whale watching tours on different days, but all departing from the same spot in Ponta Delgada. The advantage is that each tour differs from the others regarding the species you might watch.

Asked on December 14th, 2022What dates are the best for whale watching? What species of whales will we see?
- Futurismo Azores AdventuresOperator•Written December 2022
The best time of the year to try to watch whales in the Azores is springtime, so anytime between April and May, should be a good time to visit. During this period, one can often find blue whales, humpback, fin whales, and sei whales which pass by the Azores on their migration route towards the northern hemisphere. As we work with wild animals, we can never guarantee the species we will see beforehand.
