Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Salzburg

    You'll arrive in Salzburg and meet up with the group to get your rental bike sorted. From there, the afternoon is yours to wander around at your own pace. Walk along the Salzach river, hike up Kapuzinerberg if you want those rooftop views over the city, or spend time browsing through Getreidegasse's shops. There's plenty of culture and character to take in however you choose to spend your time.

  2. Day 2

    Moor Lakes

    Hop on a short regional train to Oberndorf, the birthplace of 'Silent Night', or cycle there if you're comfortable with the ride. After that, you'll head along the Salzach river into Austria's largest moor area where you'll find two warm family-friendly lakes. Höllersee and Holzöstersee are both great for swimming and spending a relaxing afternoon in the water.

    Burghausen

    Start the morning with a swim in the warm moorland lake to get going. Then you have options: try Wanderbauerngolf, which is this quirky miniature golf played with wooden bats along walking paths, or if that's not your thing, take a scenic bike ride along the Salzach to Burghausen. This old town is really worth poking around in.

  4. Day 4

    Trumer Lakes District

    You'll cycle through the peaceful nature reserve past some animal areas toward Michaelbeuern, then push on to the Trumer Lakes district. Three crystal-clear lakes are waiting for you here: Obertrumer See, Mattsee, and Grabensee. After your ride, jumping into one of these for a cool off and some relaxation time feels just right.

    Trumer Lakes Lidos and Adventure Activities

    Three massive lidos with water slides and rafts are here if you want to have fun with the group. There's also a high rope course where you can swing up to 35 metres high if that appeals to you. If you'd rather keep it low-key, a leisurely bike loop around Obertrumer See with a swimming stop included works too.

    Bike through the nature reserve past the Egelseen lakes on your way to Schleedorf, then continue alongside the sparkling Lake Irrsee all the way to Lake Mondsee. You'll have time for swimming and relaxing at Lake Mondsee, and along the way stop at local inns to try some typical Austrian food like Schnitzel and apple strudel.

  7. Day 7

    Lake Mondsee to Salzburg

    This morning you'll cycle past meadows through Thalgau and Eugendorf, then follow the old Ischler railway route down to the Salzach river. Pick up the Tauern cycle path from there and head into Salzburg's centre. After the ride, grab some ice cream or Mozartkugeln chocolates and spend your time visiting Mozart's birthplace, the cathedral, palaces, and castles around the city.

    Everything was so well organised we could just relax and ride the bikes. We hired bikes and they were in great condition and gave us no problems- I would definitely recommend this holiday. The accomodation was excellent too.

The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 60 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
