Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Salzburg

You'll arrive in Salzburg and meet up with the group before picking up your rental bike. From there, the day is yours to explore at your own pace. Head down to the Salzach river for a walk along the water, or if you want a workout, climb Kapuzinerberg to get some great views across the city. The old town has plenty of shops and cafes, especially around Getreidegasse where you can wander through the narrow streets. You'll get a real sense of the city's cultural character just by moving around on your bike.

  2. Day 2

    Trumer Lakes Region

After a short train ride to Oberndorf, you'll start cycling along the Salzach river. This is where the carol 'Silent Night' was written, so there's some history here. As you ride, the landscape opens up into Austria's largest moor area, which gives you a different kind of scenery. Later, you'll reach Höllersee and Holzöstersee, two family-friendly lakes with lidos right there. It's a good spot to take a break, swim if you want, and dry off before heading back.

    Breakfast

    Included Activities

    • Entrance fee to the lidos at the Trumer Lakes
    • 1 Salzburger Seeland-card with many services included

    Optional Activities

    • Visit Oberndorf, birthplace of 'Silent Night'

  3. Day 3

    Trumer Lakes Region

Today's ride takes you through quieter terrain, starting with a nature reserve where you'll pass some local wildlife areas. Michaelbeuern is your first main stop, and from there you'll head into the Trumer Lake district. You'll see three separate lakes on this route: Obertrumer See, Mattsee, and Grabensee. All three have clear water, so there's plenty of opportunity to stop for a swim and rest up after the morning's pedaling.

  4. Day 4

    Trumer Lakes to Salzburg

This is your final day of cycling, and you'll follow Wallersee lake with its various lidos along the way toward Seekirchen. From Seekirchen, you'll head to Eugendorf, where things get interesting. The route back to Salzburg follows the old Ischler Bahntrasse, which is a historic train path that's no longer in use. Once you're back in the city, you'll have some time to catch any sights you might have missed before your evening departure.

Everything was so well organised we could just relax and ride the bikes. We hired bikes and they were in great condition and gave us no problems- I would definitely recommend this holiday. The accomodation was excellent too.

Itinerary and guide was very good. The supplied app was a bit clunky but once its rough edges had been understood it was ok. Organisation was excellent
