- Day 1
Faro
You'll land at Faro International Airport where a local representative meets you to help with car rental. After checking into your hotel, the afternoon is yours to walk through Faro's old town at your own pace. The Arco da Vila gateway is the main historic entrance, and from there you can wander around and find local landmarks on your own schedule.

Faro to Silves
Following breakfast, you'll drive to Silves, a hilltop town sitting above the Arade River. This was the ancient capital of Algarve, and you'll have time to check out the castle, cathedral, and Roman bridge. The Cruz de Portugal is also here, and as you walk through the alleys, you'll notice Arabic architectural elements and traditional azulejos tiles throughout the town.

After breakfast you're heading to Beja, a historic Roman town with Moorish architectural influences mixed in. The medieval castle is the main attraction, though there are several churches to see as well. If you want to venture further, nearby villages like Serpa and Aljustrel are set among beautiful valleys and hills and can be visited as optional stops.

Beja to Évora
You'll drive to Évora after breakfast, a UNESCO World Heritage city that's considered one of Portugal's most romantic destinations and is really a book of Portuguese art history. The Templo de Diana, Cathedral, and Chapel of Bones are the main sites you'll want to visit. Later, take time to enjoy the local food scene and grab a meal at one of the restaurants.

The Museum of Évora gives you a deeper sense of the city's history and character if you want more context about what you're seeing.
