After that, continue on to Meteora where the day really opens up with those cliff-top monasteries perched high above the landscape. The ancient frescoes and sacred chapels inside are something you won't see elsewhere, and you'll have time to walk through a few of them. Once you check in and get settled, there's a chance to relax before heading out to catch the sunset, which is why people come here. Later in the evening, wander through the village streets nearby to get a feel for local life.
