Kathmandu
You'll land in Kathmandu and meet your company representative who handles your transfer to the hotel. There's a welcome dinner for everyone arriving today at the hotel, along with a quick briefing about the trek ahead. This gives you a chance to meet other travelers and get oriented before things get going.

Kathmandu Valley Sightseeing
Spend your time walking through Kathmandu valley and checking out its many temples. You'll see UNESCO World Heritage Sites like Pashupatinath Temple, Swayambhunath Stupa, Boudhanath Stupa, and Kathmandu Durbar Square in the center. The neighboring districts have their own durbar squares and temples too, so there's quite a bit to take in throughout the day.

Kathmandu to Pokhara
After exploring the city, you'll drive toward Pokhara, which sits in a valley known for its lakes. Along the way, you'll pass Phewa Lake and Begnas Lake, stop at some caves, and see a few waterfalls. You'll spend the night at a hotel in Pokhara, giving you time to settle in before starting the trekking portion.

Pokhara to Jomsom
An early morning flight takes you from Pokhara to Jomsom, with great mountain views during the flight. The landscape here is mostly rocky and sandy with fairly flat terrain. You'll see peaks like Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri, Tukuche, and Dhampus, and the afternoon winds are something to be aware of in this area.

Jomsom to Kagbeni Trek
After breakfast, you'll trek toward Kagbeni, which sits on a cliff top and serves as the entrance to Lower Mustang. Along the route, you'll pass the King's Palace with 100 rooms and the 800-year-old red brick Shakya Gompa. The trek takes you by the Kali Gandaki and Jhong Khola rivers with views of Dhaulagiri, Tukuche, Nilgiri, and the Annapurna Massif.

Kagbeni to Muktinath Trek
You'll trek through Khingar and Jharkot after breakfast, both good spots to grab tea or lunch if needed. From there, the trail continues to Ranipauwa and then to Muktinath, a smaller village surrounded by green hills. It's a solid day of walking with some decent stopping points along the way.

Muktinath to Marpha Trek
After breakfast at your teahouse, you'll visit Muktinath Temple, which matters to both Buddhists and Hindus in Nepal. Spend time exploring the main temple and the surrounding area before heading back out on the trail. The trek to Marpha village takes about an hour from there.

Marpha to Pokhara
An early morning flight from Marpha takes you back to Pokhara, offering a great way to wrap up the Upper Mustang trek. The flight runs along the spectacular Kali Gandaki Gorge, with the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountain ranges on either side.

Pokhara to Kathmandu
You'll head back to Kathmandu by car, which takes around 6 hours and covers some nice scenery. If you prefer, there's an option to fly from Pokhara to Kathmandu instead, though that comes with an extra charge and isn't part of the base tour price.
