Itinerary
- Day 1
Lukla to Phakding
You'll land at Tenzing Hillary Airport in Lukla and start trekking down toward Phakding. The path takes you through Chaurikharka village, then climbs to Dudh Koshi Ghat at 2,530m/8,300ft before dropping down to Phakding. Stop at the Buddhist Rimishung Monastery to see the local religious site.

Phakding to Namche Bazaar
Head through the valley walking alongside the Dudh Kosi River and cross several suspension bridges along the way. The trail climbs higher as you reach Jorsale, then continues to Namche Bazaar. You'll see Mt. Everest on the horizon, and at Jorsale officials will check your trekking permit when you enter Sagarmatha National Park.

Namche Bazaar to Tengboche
Follow a zigzag route through various valleys toward Kenjoma, passing countless Mani stones carved with Buddhist prayers. Mt. Everest and Mt. Ama Dablam come into view as you trek. After descending to Phunki Thanga, the path climbs steeply through pine forests to Tengboche at 3,870m/12,700ft, where you'll find panoramic views of the region's highest mountains.

Tengboche to Dingboche
Today's trek is mostly downhill, taking 3 to 4 hours through forested sections. You'll cross the Imja Khola river and pass through Pangboche, a village with terraced fields surrounded by rock walls where yaks graze during the warmer months.

Dingboche to Lobuche
Pass by numerous Chortens (Tibetan shrines) on your way to Thugla at 4,600m/15,100ft for a lunch break at a local tea house. From there, trek toward the high peaks of Mt. Pumori and Mt. Nuptse, crossing open valleys to reach Lobuche Village at 4,940m/16,200ft. You'll pass the first aid post at Pheriche and descend into the yak pastures surrounding Lobuche.

Lobuche to Everest Base Camp to Gorakshep
Start with a two-hour trek to Gorakshep with clear views of Everest, Nuptse, and surrounding peaks. After lunch, continue trekking alongside the Khumbu Glacier for about 1.5 hours to reach Everest Base Camp at 5,360m/17,600ft. You'll see climbers and the glacier's crevasse patterns before heading back to Gorakshep to stay the night.

Kala Patthar to Kathmandu
Rise before dawn and trek to Kala Patthar at 5,550m/18,200ft over about two hours. The short final climb gives you panoramic views of Everest and snow-covered peaks across the region. Later, catch a helicopter from Gorakshep to Lukla, then fly to Kathmandu. Once there, you can rest, visit sites you missed earlier, or shop with your guides' help.
