Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Arrival in Porto

    You'll land at Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport and settle in. Dinner is on the menu if your flight gets in at a reasonable hour, but the main thing is to rest and adjust to the time zone. The tour officially starts tomorrow, so tonight is really just about getting comfortable.

  2. Day 2

    Porto

    After group breakfast, you'll head out on a scavenger hunt through Porto's streets with time to wander and discover things on your own. By evening, head down to the coast for a beachside dinner with fresh seafood and ocean views to cap off your first full day.

  3. Day 3

    Douro River to Douro Valley

    Start early with a 6-glass wine tasting led by Rafael on a private boat as you cruise up the Douro River toward the wine region. You'll take in Portuguese countryside along the way, then stop for lunch featuring local dishes in the Douro Valley. Dinner comes later back at your base.

  4. Day 4

    Porto

    This one's yours to plan. Check out Porto at your own pace while guides share tips on where to go and what to see. You can either join Rafael for wine shopping to test what you've learned, or meet up with others later for cocktails in town. Pretty flexible day.

  5. Day 5

    Moncao

    Road trip out to Rafael's family estate in the vineyard region around Moncao. Walk through the vineyards and get a lesson on grape types and how harvesting works, then participate in a cooking class with a professional chef and Mrs. Lima. The evening wraps up by the campfire with mulled wine and food.

    Moncao

    You'll harvest grapes alongside Rafael's family and local workers, getting hands-on with the actual work. After that, learn to bake Nata, a traditional Portuguese pastry. Then visit the local Palace to explore the area's history, and finish with an advanced wine tasting where you'll try new varieties and sharpen your palate skills.

After dinner, head out for evening drinks with the group to wrap things up and celebrate.

    • For any tour departing before January 2nd, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after January 2nd, 2026, a minimum payment of 20% is required to confirm your booking with Life Nomading Adventures. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 60 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
