Itinerary
- Day 1
Arrival in Kathmandu
You'll land at Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport where someone from Sherpa Expedition & Trekking will be waiting to pick you up. After you get to your hotel and settle in, there's a short briefing about the trek ahead. You'll meet your guide and the rest of your group to go over what's coming.

Kathmandu
You have two options today. Either head to Balaju (3 km from Thamel) for rock climbing instruction where you'll practice with ropes, harnesses, ice axes, and crampons, or take a half-day guided tour hitting Pashupatinath, Bouddhanath, Swayambhunath, and Durbar Square. In the afternoon there's a pre-trip meeting with your guide and team, then you've got free time in Thamel to grab anything you forgot before moving toward Thorong Peak.

Kathmandu to Bhulbhule
Your guide picks you up early for a 7 to 8 hour drive to Bhulbhule, going through Besisahar. You'll stop in Besisahar to register with local authorities and see the Nepal countryside along the way. When you reach Bhulbhule on the Marsyangdi River banks, that's where you'll spend the night.

Bhulbhule to Jagat
Today's a roughly 6 hour trek that shows you how local communities get by in this difficult, isolated area. You'll hike through the Nepal countryside and end up at Jagat for the night.

- Day 5
Jagat to Dharapani
Start with a 1.5 hour trek on a rocky path to Chamje Village, then keep going to Tal, a small village right on the Marsyangdi River with nice waterfall views. You'll continue trekking until you hit Dharapani where you'll set up camp for the night.

- Day 6
Dharapani to Chame
This 6 hour trek takes you higher up with noticeably colder temperatures. You'll go through forests and the Tibetan village of Bagarchhap with its traditional style, then through apple farm regions and pine trees. Along the way you'll see Lamjung and Annapurna II peaks, walk beside the Marsyangdi River, and pass through Manang and Koto before reaching Chame, where you'll stay overnight.

Landmarks Annapurna II Lamjung - Day 7
Chame to Pisang
Leaving Chame, you pass through Telekhu and get great views of Annapurna and Pisang Peak (6091m). You'll cross a suspension bridge to the south side of the Marsyangdi River, then climb through pine forests up the upper Manang valley to Pisang. From the upper part of the village you can see Pisang and Chulu peaks. Overnight in Pisang.

Landmarks Annapurna Pisang Peak - Day 8
Pisang to Braga
From Pisang you trek into the upper Manang region heading to Braga, a Tibetan village where houses are stacked on top of each other. You'll visit the Gompa, which is the largest Buddhist fortification in the Manang region. This area is good for getting used to the altitude before going higher. Stay overnight in Braga.

- Day 9
Acclimatization Day in Manang
To help your body adjust before higher elevations, you'll climb Mt. Khangsar (3756m) to stay active. From this spot you get great views of Annapurna II, Annapurna III (7555m), Gangapurna (7454m), Tilicho (7132m), the Grand Barrier, Chulu West (6583m), and Chulu East (6059m). After coming back down, you'll stay overnight in Manang.

Manang to Yak Kharka or Letdar
You'll trek 10.4 km uphill to Yak Kharka through juniper forests where yaks graze in alpine pastures. You'll find the only teahouse at Thorong Khola on this route. If weather cooperates, you might push further and sleep at Letdar instead of Yak Kharka.

- Day 11
Yak Kharka to Thorong Phedi
As the altitude increases, you'll follow the trail along the east side of the Jarang Khola with views of tall rocky cliffs before reaching Thorong Phedi. You might see blue sheep or even a snow leopard, and possibly spot a Lammergeyer (bearded vulture). You can choose to trek one more hour to High Camp (4800m). Overnight at Thorong Phedi.

Thorong Phedi to Thorong Peak Base Camp
Trek uphill to Thorong Peak Base Camp. You'll have time to rest and get your climbing gear ready for the summit push tomorrow.

Landmarks Thorong Peak - Day 13
Thorong Peak Base Camp Preparation
Your guide goes over safety procedures and roping techniques with you. Weather will play a big role in tomorrow's climb, so it's crucial to be prepared for anything. This day of prep will get you ready for the incredible views and the physical achievement waiting for you at the top.

Thorong Peak Climb
You'll wake up early in the morning to reach the peak with plenty of daylight. Climb at a steady pace and take breaks as you need them, looking out at the incredible views of Thorong Peak and the snowy peaks around it. The scenery is worth every bit of physical effort that climbing at this elevation demands.

Landmarks Thorong Peak - Day 15
Reserve Day
This is a backup day if bad weather or other issues come up. If the summit climb needs to be postponed, you'll use this time to rest and continue adjusting to the high altitude.

- Day 16
Thorong Peak to Jomsom
You'll hear temple bells in the morning, eat breakfast, then head down to Kagbeni along the Kaligandaki River. You might stop in Kagbeni for lunch. After that, trek a few more hours to Jomsom, a busy town and the headquarters of the Mustang region with an airstrip. Jomsom was part of the old salt trade route from Tibet. Sleep in Jomsom.

- Day 17
Jomsom to Pokhara
Your final day in the mountains as you head to Jomsom airport for a short 15 to 20 minute flight to Pokhara with great Himalayan views. Once in Pokhara this evening, you can unwind and think back on your trek. Your guide will show you the World Peace Pagoda, Bindabasini Temple, boating options on Phewa Lake, Matepani Buddhist Monastery, and the International Mountain Museum. The lakeside is perfect for watching the sunset over the mountains. Stay overnight in Pokhara.

Pokhara to Kathmandu
Drive back to Kathmandu (6 to 7 hours) carrying great memories of Nepal's culture and landscape. Your guide will take you to your hotel in Thamel where you'll have free time to walk around, do last minute shopping, or sit in a café to catch up on emails.

Departure from Kathmandu
Your last day in Nepal. A Sherpa Expedition and Trekking representative will pick you up and take you to the airport at least three hours before your flight. Safe travels heading home, and who knows, you might already be thinking about your next climb to one of Nepal's peaks.
