Ushuaia
You'll arrive in Ushuaia and get picked up from the airport for transfer to your hotel. This southernmost city has plenty to explore on your own terms, or if you're interested, you can arrange optional activities like hiking or checking out local wildlife. How you spend the rest of the day is really up to you.

Ushuaia to Ship
After breakfast, use your final morning to walk around the waterfront, pick up souvenirs or cold-weather gear, and grab lunch at one of the local cafés. In the afternoon, head to the pier to board the M/V Sea Spirit. You'll get settled into your suite, attend briefings, have dinner, and then relax on deck as the ship moves through the Beagle Channel.

Drake Passage Crossing
The ship crosses the Drake Passage, and you'll likely see humpback and fin whales from the panoramic decks. Watch for wandering albatrosses and other seabirds while you're up there. During this crossing, the ship passes through the Antarctic Convergence, which is the biological boundary of the Southern Ocean. Attend briefings and bio-security presentations to prepare for arriving at the South Shetland Islands by evening.

Landmarks/POIs Drake Passage Antarctic Convergence South Shetland Islands - Days 5 - 9
Antarctic Exploration
You'll have scheduled landings and excursions around the South Shetland Islands and Antarctic Peninsula to see towering mountains, massive glaciers, and icebergs. Gentoo, chinstrap, and Adelie penguins live in colonies here, and you'll also spot seals, whales, and various seabirds. The famous Lemaire Channel and Antarctic research bases are on the itinerary. Active options include hiking, hill climbing, sea kayaking, and camping. Christmas Day includes special meals and festivities on board.

Return Across Drake Passage
Head back across the Drake Passage toward South America, watching for seabirds and possible whales along the way. There's the Captain's Farewell Cocktail and an end-of-voyage slideshow to enjoy. As you enter the Beagle Channel, the sailing becomes smooth and you'll cruise toward Ushuaia.

Ushuaia Disembarkation
After breakfast on board, you'll disembark in Ushuaia between 8:00 and 9:00 AM. A group transfer takes you to the airport or city center. This is your chance to reflect on the Antarctic adventure and head home or onward to your next destination.
