- Day 1
Cusco to Puerto Maldonado
Your last evening in Cusco gives you time to settle into the historic atmosphere before heading to the bus terminal. You'll board a comfortable overnight bus that winds through the Andean mountains, so get comfortable and try to sleep as you travel toward the Amazon lowlands.

- Day 2
Puerto Maldonado to Eco-Lodge
After arriving in Puerto Maldonado, you'll spend time at the office lounge with coffee and WiFi while your group gathers. Around noon, head to the port for a scenic 1-hour boat ride down the Madre de Dios River into thick rainforest. Check into your bungalow, take a walk around the grounds spotting giant trees and wildlife, then join a guided twilight jungle walk before dinner.

- Day 3
Taricaya Reserve & Jungle Exploration
Breakfast comes first, then you'll hike to jungle canopy platforms at 15, 25, and 45 meters high, with the highest point reached by a thrilling 90-meter suspension bridge showing rainforest stretching in all directions. Next, visit Taricaya Animal Rescue Center to see jaguars, pumas, monkeys, and toucans, plus the butterfly house. After lunch, learn about sustainable agroforestry and the turtle project, then boat back to the lodge. End the day with a moonlit search for caimans along the river before your farewell dinner.

Amazon Departure & Puerto Maldonado
You'll wake to jungle sounds and have sunrise breakfast at the lodge. Board your boat for a scenic morning trip downstream, reaching Puerto Maldonado around 9:30 am. From there, either head straight to the airport or bus terminal, or stop at the office lounge to clean up. If time allows, check out the local market for crafts and jungle produce, or climb the city obelisk for views over the Amazon.

Cusco Arrival & Tour End
Your overnight bus brings you back to Cusco, returning you to the cool Andean highlands. Spend the day at your own pace, grabbing breakfast at a café, walking historic streets and plazas, or revisiting favorite spots from earlier. Arrange your final transfer to the airport or bus terminal whenever you're ready, carrying memories of your Amazon time.
