Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Marrakech

    You'll arrive at Mohamed V Airport where your guide meets you for the drive to your hotel. Once you've settled in, you'll spend the rest of the day visiting the shrines and mausoleums of the Seven Saints of Marrakech. Your guide takes you through each sacred site one by one, so you get a good sense of these important Islamic figures and their spiritual significance throughout the medina.

  2. Day 2

    Marrakech to Fez

    After lunch, head to the Zaouia of Sid Lghazouani Moul L'aksour for a dhikr gathering inside the medina where you'll experience the colorful energy of Old Marrakech. Then you'll depart for Fez, driving through Volubilis, Moulay Idriss, Ouezzane, and Azjen. You arrive in Fez by evening with dinner and overnight at your hotel.

  3. Day 3

    Fez to Tinghir

    Starting from Fez, you'll travel toward Tinghir via Ouarzazate, passing through Taddart and climbing the Tizi Tishka pass at 11,000 feet. You'll explore the Kasbah of Ait-Benhaddou before continuing through Dades Valley, driving past El Kelaa De Mgouna and Boumalne while taking in the natural rock formations. Later, you stop at the Zaouia of Lamrani for a Naciri Dhikr gathering before settling in at your Kasbah for the night.

  4. Day 4

    Tinghir to Rissani

    You'll travel through Dades Valley toward Erfoud, passing through the Todras gorges which are the highest and narrowest in the region. After that, continue to Rissani where you explore this ancient holy oasis and visit the shrine and library of Moulay Ali Sheriff along with the Zaouia Naciria. You'll also see the ruins of Sijilmassa and check out prehistoric fossils before dinner and overnight in Rissani.

    Rissani to Fez

    Watch the sunrise over the Merzouga dunes and then have breakfast with the Tuaregs. You'll head toward Fez, stopping in Midelt for lunch where you can take in views of the Middle Atlas transitioning into the High Atlas Mountains. Later, you visit rural Berber villages, stop at Zaouiet Sheikh and the Sanctuary of Sidi Ya'Ata Bouazza, pass through Azrou market, and reach Fez for dinner.

    Fez

    This is a full day exploring Fez's medina starting at the King's Palace and Meshwar. You'll walk through the 15th-century Jewish quarter and see Sephardic synagogues and holy Rabbi mausoleums. Later, hike to Merinides Hill cemetery for views over the medina, then enter the old city at Bab Guissa gate. You'll explore craft guilds, tanneries, and souks including Nejjarine Square and Al Quarrawiyyine Mosque University. After lunch, continue through the dyers' souks and visit Sidi Ahmed Tijani shrine. By evening, join a dhikr invocation at a zaouia of your choice.

    Continue exploring Sufi sites and zaouias in Fez's old city and surrounding areas. You'll visit Ibn Arabi's house in the medina, then head out to Sidi Ahmed Barnoussi Zaouia in the hills of Mount Zalagh for a traditional Sadaqa lunch. Your guide explains the spiritual teachings of the Zerrouki Tarika founder and his works on alchemy and Islamic theology.

From there, visit Moulay Idris, the citadel founded in the 8th century and considered where Sufism took root in Morocco. Then head to Meknes before continuing on to Chefchaouen. You'll check out sights outside the walled city with your guide and have dinner at your riad.
