Itinerary
- Day 1
Kathmandu to Lumbini
You'll fly from Kathmandu down to Bhairahawa, then drive through to Lumbini for the rest of the day. This UNESCO World Heritage site has a lot to take in, so you'll walk through the sacred monasteries and temples at your own pace. The Mayadevi Temple is the main draw here, marking where Buddha was born, and you'll also see the Ashoka Pillar, which dates back centuries. Bring water and comfortable shoes because there's quite a bit of ground to cover, and the late morning heat around 82°F/28°C can feel intense.

- Day 2
Lumbini
After an early start from your hotel, you'll head out with a guide to visit several historical sites spread across the region. Tilaurakot comes first, the ancient city of Kapilavastu where Buddha spent his first 29 years before leaving his family. From there, you'll check out Kudan, Gotihawa, Niglihawa, and Sagarhawa, each with its own relics and historical importance. Your guide will walk you through what makes each location significant. By evening you'll head back to Lumbini, so plan to spend about eight hours on this circuit with breaks for lunch and water.

- Day 3
Lumbini to Kathmandu
You'll travel early to Devdaha and Ramagram, two more important Buddhist sites. Devdaha was where Queen Mayadevi, Buddha's mother, and Princess Yasodhara both came from originally. Then it's on to Ramagram, which has a seven-meter-high brick stupa that holds one of Buddha's relics, making it significant for pilgrims. After spending time at both locations and exploring with your guide, you'll make the drive back to Kathmandu in the late afternoon, arriving by early evening.
