Itinerary
- Day 1
Arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport to Sigiriya
You'll be met at Bandaranaike International Airport and driven to Sigiriya for your first night. The transfer takes you through Sri Lanka's interior, and you'll settle into your hotel in the Sigiriya area.
- Day 2
Anuradhapura
After breakfast, tackle the climb up Sigiriya Lion Rock, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with ancient ruins and a 200-metre rock column. From there, head to Anuradhapura to walk through the second capital's well-preserved archaeological remains. You'll drive back to Sigiriya to stay another night.

Minneriya National Park
Following breakfast, travel to Polonnaruwa to see the ruins of the ancient kingdom's second capital city. Later, a jeep safari takes you through Minneriya National Park where you can look for Sri Lankan elephants in their natural habitat. Return to Sigiriya for the night.

Dambulla - Matale - Kandy
Head to Kandy this morning with a stop at Dambulla Cave Temple, the largest cave temple complex featuring Buddha statues and wall paintings. You'll also visit a spice garden in Matale to learn how spices are grown and processed, plus check out a Hindu temple there. Arrive in Kandy by evening and check in to your hotel.

Three Temples Loop - Royal Botanical Gardens
Spend the day on the Three Temples Loop, starting with Gadaladeniya Temple perched on a rock with Buddhist shrines and wall paintings. Next comes Lankatilaka Temple, recognizable by its bright white exterior and seated Buddha statue with guardian elephant-lions. After that, Embekke Devale offers intricately carved wooden pillars. Finish at Royal Botanical Gardens in Peradeniya, home to over 4,000 plant species. Head back to Kandy for the night.

Kandy
Explore Kandy city starting with the Temple of the Tooth Relic (Sri Dalada Maligawa), one of Buddhism's most sacred temples housing Buddha's tooth. Visit the Ceylon Tea Museum located in a 1925 tea factory building. Wander around Kandy Lake and do some shopping if you like. By evening, catch a Kandyan cultural dance performance, then return to your hotel.

After breakfast, head for Adam's Peak (Sri Pada), the 2,243-metre sacred mountain respected by Buddhists, Hindus, Muslims, and Christians alike. You'll climb through the night to reach the summit at dawn for cloud-free views and the mysterious shadow of the peak. Stay overnight at Adam's Peak.

Adam's Peak to Nuwara Eliya
Come down from Adam's Peak and transfer to Nuwara Eliya (City of Lights), a high-altitude resort town at 1,868 metres with a cool climate and tea plantations. After settling in at your hotel, take time to explore the city in the evening. Stay overnight in Nuwara Eliya.

Airport
