  1. Day 1

    Bad Goisern

    You'll arrive in Bad Goisern and get settled into your hotel. This becomes your home base for the alpine walking adventure that's about to unfold in the Ausseerland region.

  2. Day 2

    Bad Goisern to Altaussee

    After a short taxi transfer to Predigstuhl, you'll start walking past rustic cabins and alpine pastures heading toward Altaussee. The route takes you by the Hütteneckalm alpine pasture where you can see the UNESCO heritage region and the distinctive Blaa-alp. By evening you'll reach the charming village of Altaussee where you'll stay the night.

  3. Day 3

    Altaussee to Grundlsee

    This morning you'll walk along lake Altaussee with the imposing Loser mountain as your backdrop. You'll cross the Tressen saddle with panoramic views all around, then head to Gössl by lake Grundlsee on scenic paths. If you're interested, there are options to visit the mystical lake Toplitzsee or try traditional wooden boat rowing.

    Grundlsee to Tauplitzalm

    You'll walk alongside a fast-flowing mountain stream through alluvial areas up the valley to Ödemälm, a spot that's considered one of the nicest around. After ascending over the Törl pass, you'll come across a charming, almost magical lake before reaching Tauplitzalm on a high plateau.

  5. Day 5

    Tauplitzalm

    You have multiple walking options here on one of Europe's loveliest high plateaus. Consider taking the 6 lakes walk for great views and mountain lakes, or climbing one of the many peaks in the Tote Gebirge mountain range. Keep an eye out for alpine flora like snow roses and gentian, and you might spot chamoises on the steep slopes.

    Tauplitzalm to Bad Goisern

    You'll walk over Hochalm past Steirersee lake to Schwarzensee, nestled among high mountains. From there the route goes downstream through forest and blooming narcissus fields to Tauplitz. Later you'll take the train back to Bad Goisern.

    Highly recommend this trip. The days can be long but the views are worth it. Most of the route is paved so you can probably get away with hiking shoes or trail running shoes. There is luggage transfer available but I didn't need it. The route from Unken to Waidring could be updated but I was able to find an alternate route with the map. Before you start you're given the full itinerary with a navigation system on the app as well as paper copies of everything.

    Beautiful country. The hotels were very comfortable, clean, and safe. the downside was I was the only person on my tour/ circuit. I was so hoping for there to be others that I could have run into and hiked with. However, it was near the end of the season. So my mistake. With Eurohike I had to prompt them to give me information. Like my hotel literary, and hike guide. also I learned after arriving that there was an app that was essential to navigating the trails. Since there are so many junctions and side trails on the course. It took 2 days to get the guide files. As a result for the first 2 days of hiking I lost track a few times & had to back track to get back on the desired trail. I'm sure if I was with other hikers this wouldn't have been as big a challenge. Overall a fairly great experience. Hopefully going to do another one with the lessons I have learned from this one.

    Hotel choices were great, walking routes were challenging at times due to gain in elevation but what goes up must come down so that helped! Beautiful to experience the peace and tranquility of the countryside.

The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 60 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
