Itinerary
- Day 1
Hanoi to Lang Son
Your guide picks you up from the hotel around 7:30-8:00am for the drive to Lang Son. The journey takes about 3 hours heading toward the Chinese border, with a stop at Chi Lang Pass where you can walk around the historic 20-km gorge and check out the Quy Mon Quan Gate. After lunch at a local restaurant in Dong Dang, you'll continue into the pass to see Mother's Temple and Dong Khe, which was the site of a major First Indochina War battle. The day wraps up with dinner and an overnight stay at a local Nung family homestay.

Lang Son to Ba Be Lake
Following breakfast at the homestay, head to Trung Khanh on the Chinese border to meet the local Nung people in Phuoc Sen village, known for traditional blacksmithing work. Next, visit Ban Gioc Waterfall, which stretches over 300 meters and sits right on the Vietnam-China border, making it ideal for photography. Later you'll explore Nguom Ngao Cave and its impressive 2,144-meter underground passage lined with stalactites and stalagmites. Drive back through Cao Bang and down the 'snake pass' to Ba Be Lake, where you'll spend the night in a traditional Tay family homestay.

- Day 3
Ba Be Lake to Hanoi
After breakfast, board a boat for the morning on Ba Be Lake surrounded by karst formations. You can relax, take in the views, or swim in the cool water. Then continue along the Nang River to explore Puong Grotto with its stalactites, stalagmites, and thousands of bats living in the cave. From there, drive approximately 230 kilometers back to Hanoi with a stop at a tea plantation set among rolling hills. You'll arrive in Hanoi by evening to finish the tour.
