I’m disappointed that I didn’t do this tour sooner because I’m almost speechless as I write this. You do so much in just a few short weeks. I also feel that it is not a popular destination, but should be. If you are reading this, you probably have the same reservations as I did going to a country like India, but give it a chance and I promise you won’t regret it. This country has so much to offer if you let it. Of course the Taj Mahal will be a highlight for most, but there are lots of forts, history and panoramic views to experience. Moreover, the food won’t taste like the options you have at home. It truly is much better in India, so don’t miss out! Most of all, you’ll be lucky to have Dhananjay (DJ) show you around. He is one of the best guides I’ve ever had. His knowledge of India’s history is almost unfathomable and all recommendations (from food to places of interest) are spot on. He is also one of the most selfless guides I’ve ever had and easy to talk to. Don’t let a few crappy reels make you miss out on such a beautiful country!Show more

From zipping around in tuk tuks, wandering the local street markets and eating some of the best Indian food I’ve ever tasted, I feel this tour gave me an authentic experience of the Rajasthan province. As a young female one of my biggest concerns was feeling safe in a very unfamiliar country but our guide Dhananjay was nothing short of incredible. Not only did he go out of his way to ensure we were all happy and comfortable the entire time, he also had a wealth of knowledge about every single place we went to. Here's the correct itinerary for Day 6 of the India tour: After breakfast in the morning, you'll take a private transfer to Pushkar, known as one of the holiest towns in India. Pushkar is a backpacker's paradise with amazing food, beautiful markets, rolling landscapes, hiking and unrivalled sunsets. In the afternoon, a local Brahmin will induct you to Pushkar properly with a blessing on the holy lake and you'll grab a drink at a lakeside cafe before heading back to your accommodation for the night.

Regarding the Holi Festival, as much as this is a joyous period and quite spectacular, it can also come with its concerns for the safety of females. Therefore, it is fully advised to watch this event from the safety of your hotel room and at a distance. Once you have arrived in India, do communicate with your guide to get an opinion for an alternative safe spot to enjoy the festival. Regarding a private Holi party, this may be worth communicating with the tour guide or the hotel about.
