Itinerary
- Day 1
Salta
You'll land at Salta Airport and get transferred to your hotel. After settling in, there's an empanada cooking class where you'll make authentic Salteñan empanadas from the ground up. You'll work with the dough, prepare fillings, and learn the traditional folding method, then eat what you've made straight from the oven. The rest of your day is open to wander around the city on your own.

- Day 2
Tilcara - Huacalera - Humahuaca - Salta
Early start heading into Jujuy province to see the Quebrada de Humahuaca, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site. You'll check out Purmamarca and its Seven Colours Hill, then drive through the valley passing Posta de Hornillos and Tilcara. At Huacalera you'll cross the Tropic of Capricorn and see Pollera de la Colla mountain. The Church of Uquia has important Cuzqueña school paintings worth seeing, and later you'll reach Humahuaca to see the Cathedral and Independence Monument. After grabbing lunch, you'll see the Paleta del Pintor mountain range that frames Maimara before heading back to Salta by late afternoon.

San Antonio de los Cobres - Salinas Grandes - Salta
Following breakfast, you'll drive through mountain terrain that runs alongside the Train of the Clouds railway through Quebrada del Toro. The route climbs gradually until you reach San Antonio de los Cobres at 4,080 meters/13,386 feet. You'll stop for lunch there and try local food, then continue on Route 40 to Salinas Grandes at the Salta-Jujuy border. From there it's the return drive back to Salta.

Salta to Mendoza
After breakfast you'll head to Salta Airport for your domestic flight to Mendoza, which sits in a wine region with the Andes as a backdrop. When you land, you'll get transferred to your hotel and have free time for the rest of the day to settle in.

- Day 5
Aconcagua - Las Cuevas
A full-day tour into the high mountains with a local guide taking you to places like Potrerillos and Uspallata where you can see panoramic mountain views. You'll stop at Puente del Inca to check out the geological formations and thermal springs, then enter Aconcagua Provincial Park for views of Aconcagua Peak and Horcones lagoon. The drive continues to Las Cuevas, the last village before the Chilean border, and then back to your Mendoza hotel.
