Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Kathmandu

You'll arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport where a representative meets you for the transfer to your hotel. After checking in, you'll get briefed on the full itinerary and what to expect over the coming days. The rest of the day is yours to recover from travel and adjust to the time zone.

    Start point
    त्रिभुवन अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय विमानस्थल, त्रिभुवन विमानस्थल, Kathmandu, Bagmati, Nepal (flight time required.)
    Landmarks
    Tribhuvan International Airport
  2. Day 2

    Kathmandu to Pokhara

Your hotel pickup happens at 6:30 am, then the tourist bus departs around 7:30 am heading toward Pokhara. The drive showcases dramatic landscape with rivers cutting through valleys, rice terraces terracing the hillsides, and deep gorges. Once you check in at your Pokhara hotel, you'll have time to settle before heading out for evening boating on Fewa Lake, where you can see Mount Machhapuchhre and the Annapurna Range reflected in the water.

    Meals
    Breakfast

    Included Activities

    • Leisure boating on Fewa Lake with views of Mount Machhapuchhre and Annapurna Range
    Landmarks

  3. Day 3

    Pokhara to Pothana Trek Start

From Phedi road head, you start trekking up to Pothana for your first night on the trail. You'll stay in a tea house lodge and get your accommodation sorted before turning in early to prepare yourself for the trekking days ahead.

    Meals
    Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

    Included Activities

    • Trek from Phedi to Pothana
    Landmarks
    Phedi
    Pothana
  4. Day 4

    Pothana to Forest Camp (Kokar)

Trekking from Pothana takes you through Pitam Deurali and then onto a quieter path that branches away from the main Annapurna Sanctuary Trek. Dense forest surrounds you with oak, maple, hemlock, and rhododendrons overhead. You'll reach Forest Camp (Kokar locally), which sits in a forest clearing where basic lodges provide shelter. Meals get prepared by the lodge owner's family from Siding Village, so dining feels more like a homestay experience than a typical trekking lodge.

    Meals
Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner (Meals served in the kitchen with lodge owner's family)

    Included Activities

    • Trek from Pothana to Pitam Deurali to Forest Camp through forest
    Landmarks
    Pitam Deurali
    Forest Camp (Kokar)
    Siding Village
  5. Day 5

Forest Camp (Kokar) to Mardi Himal Ridge

Trekking moves above the tree line along the Mardi Himal ridge heading west, mostly on grass with rhododendron bushes scattered about. Keep an eye out for colorful Danphe pheasants on this section. Your lodge offers superb views of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, and Machhapuchhre (Fishtail Mountain) in the distance.

    Meals
    Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

    Included Activities

    • Trek along Mardi Himal ridge above tree line
    Landmarks
    Mardi Himal Ridge
    Annapurna South
    Hiunchuli
    Machhapuchhre (Fishtail)
  6. Day 6

    Mardi Himal Upper Viewpoint

Wake up early to catch sunrise mountain views before breakfast. After eating, you'll walk up the ridge toward Mardi Himal on a well-marked grassy trail with some steep parts mixed in. Watch for dzos (yak and cow crossbreds), Danphe pheasants, and herder's huts along the way. Around three hours of trekking gets you to the Upper Viewpoint at 4,200m/13,780 feet, where panoramic views open up across the Annapurna Sanctuary and surrounding peaks.

    Meals
    Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

    Included Activities

    • Trek to Mardi Himal Upper Viewpoint at 4,200m
    • Sunrise mountain viewing
    Landmarks
    Mardi Himal Upper Viewpoint
    Annapurna Sanctuary
  7. Day 7

    Upper Viewpoint to Siding Village

Rise early again for sunrise before your return trek starts, but this time you'll take a different route to loop back rather than retracing. From Low Camp, you descend toward Siding Village instead of going back through Kokar. This traditional Nepalese village sits away from the busier tourist trekking routes, and you'll stay at a home-based lodge run by someone connected to the Low Camp lodge, giving you a genuine village experience.

    Meals
    Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

    Included Activities

    • Trek from Upper Viewpoint to Low Camp to Siding Village via circuit route
    • Sunrise mountain viewing
    Landmarks
    Low Camp
    Siding Village
  8. Day 8

    Siding Village to Kathmandu

The scenic drive back to Kathmandu takes about 6 hours by tourist bus. You'll check into your hotel and spend the rest of the day relaxing and reflecting on your trekking experience now that you're back in the city.

    Meals
    Breakfast
  9. Day 9

    Departure from Kathmandu

About 3 hours before your flight departs, your representative will pick you up from the hotel for the transfer to Tribhuvan International Airport. From there, you head home with memories of the trek and mountain views.

    End point
    त्रिभुवन अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय विमानस्थल, त्रिभुवन विमानस्थल, Kathmandu, Bagmati, Nepal (flight time required.)

Wonderful tour that is doable for any fit hiker who sets their mind to achieving a goal! Great organization from the first email to the last wave at the airport! Top guide "Hari", super warm, always there for you, responded individually to each of us three in the group and fulfilled all our wishes! Thank you!!! Thanks also to our two nimble, helpful porters who made the adventure possible! I would definitely choose this agency again for my next tour in the Himalayas! Clear recommendation!!!

Bassoo ,our guide, was thoroughly competent as a mountain leader and indeed could not have been more helpful but was handicapped by the lack of a clear procedure to go off when weather conditions are bad at Lukla airport.. There seemed no good reason why we should have had to pay extra money for porters or the drivers for the journey back (or even for board and lodge costs as the itinerary stated these were free up to day 12). With many other disconsolate hikers we spent too much time waiting around the airport for information or rather lack of it...After all, mist at Lukla airport must hardly be an exceptional occurrence and so the company needs a clear policy to go off for when it occurs. i.e. Tell clients the choices involved such as the amount the helicopter alternative properly costs and how horrible and long the walk and jeep journey can be. Advise them to contact their insurance companies or look at their holiday insurance policies. Kind regards to everyone. It was still a wonderful experience of a lifetime.
