Itinerary
- Day 1
Iquitos to Amazon Lodge
Your day starts with a transfer to the dock where you'll board a speedboat heading to Belen floating village on the Itaya River. As you navigate through the Amazon, you'll stop at local villages before reaching your jungle lodge for check-in. After a welcome drink and getting settled into your private cabin, there's a short walk through the jungle to look for orchids. Lunch features typical local foods, and then an afternoon hike takes you deeper into the forest to see wildlife and flora. You'll watch the sunset from the lodge, followed by a night excursion where you search for insects, amphibians, tarantulas, and birds while hearing stories about jungle legends.

Amazon Exploration
Start early for bird watching at Shansho Cocha, known as Hoatzin Lake, then return for breakfast. The morning continues with a visit to the Yagua community where you'll see traditional dress, hear the native language, and watch a blowgun demonstration along with explanations of hunting methods and handicrafts. After a typical lunch, you'll head out on an Amazon journey to a family conservation shelter housing sloths, monkeys, turtles, anacondas, and boa constrictors. Keep an eye out for grey and pink river dolphins along the way. The day ends with a night expedition searching for caimans in the jungle.

Primate Conservation and Sugar Cane
Begin with breakfast before taking an Amazon trip to a private primate conservation project that protects 5 different endangered species. From there, you'll visit a local family's sugar cane operation where they process various products at their mill, including distillery items and rum. Back at the lodge, the evening features a typical music performance that gives you a feel for local culture and traditions.

- Day 4
Adventure and Overnight Jungle Camping
After breakfast, you'll observe the Victoria Regia water lilies on the Amazon, then participate in sport fishing for piranha, catfish, and sardines. A self-service lunch comes next before you head into the Amazon interior for an overnight stay in hammocks or tents. The evening includes night hiking through the jungle and a night bird excursion. The following morning, you'll hike back through the jungle with basic survival instruction training. A canoe ride downriver (weather and season dependent) takes you back to Cumaceba Lodge. Have lunch there and then depart for Iquitos with a transfer to your hotel or airport.

Departure from Iquitos
After lunch, pack up all your belongings from your room and head to the Iquitos airport or your hotel for your final departure, saying goodbye to the friends you've made during the tour.
