Itinerary
- Day 1
Arrival in Negombo
Your local guide will meet you and take you to your hotel in Negombo. Once you're settled, the evening opens up for a city tour where you can browse through exotic vintage boutiques and get a feel for the local shopping scene.

Negombo to Sigiriya
After eating breakfast at the hotel, you'll travel toward Sigiriya, one of Sri Lanka's most historically significant cities. On the way, there's an option to stop at elephant sanctuaries if you're interested. The main event is Sigiriya Rock Fortress, a UNESCO site where you'll see the ancient mirror walls, old drawings, the lion gate, and water gardens. You can climb to the summit for views across the landscape.

- Day 3
Minneriya National Park
Breakfast comes first at the hotel, then you're heading to Polonnaruwa, one of Sri Lanka's former kingdoms. The ruins, castles, and temples here show off the country's cultural heritage pretty well. Later in the day, a jeep safari at Minneriya National Park gives you the chance to see hundreds of wild elephants and other wildlife around the lake.

- Day 4
Minneriya to Kandy
Starting early, you'll travel to Kandy, the historical Buddhist center and Sri Lanka's last kingdom city. On the route, stop at the Dambulla Golden Cave Temple. Once in Kandy, you'll see the mix of Sri Lankan and British architecture, walk through local markets, and check out traditional arts and crafts. The day includes visits to a woodcarving and gem shop, a gem museum, and a batik factory.

Kandy to Bentota
After breakfast, you're taking a leisurely drive toward Bentota, a coastal town known for water sports. Stop at Kadugannawa to take in the misty forests and have local ginger tea, then continue down toward the southern province.

Mirissa
Following breakfast, head to Galle to see the UNESCO fortress with its colonial British and European architecture. From there, travel to Mirissa, a sandy beach town. Along the way, stop to watch the famous stilt fishermen of Weligama Bay, which looks especially nice around sunset.

- Day 7
Mirissa to Bentota
You're returning to Bentota, a coastal town with plenty of water sports and relaxation options. Take a boat ride on the Madu River to see little turtles at the turtle hatchery. Later, relax at your resort or head down to the beach with a cup of Ceylonese tea to watch the sunset.

Departure from Bentota
After breakfast, check out and spend time shopping around Colombo for any last-minute gifts before heading to the airport. If you'd prefer, you can extend your stay to spend more time on the beaches instead of departing today.
