Costa Rica is wonderful, but what made it so perfect was meeting and making friends with the other families as we travelled. Our kids, aged 12 and 10 made close knit friends with the other kids on Day 1 of the trip, and had the time of their lives! So many 'firsts' for them: seeing green turtles lay their eggs at midnight on a Caribbean beach, rafting on an easy but beautiful river, zip wiring through the canopy of a cloud forest and swimming on tropical beaches while monkeys tried to raid our lunch. While the kids made close friends on Day 1 the adults bonded over beers by the pool that evening. The accommodation was v comfortable with swimming pools at every stop, and our tour leader and driver were excellent: fun with the kids and informative to all. Our problem now if that the kids want to go to Costa Rica for every holiday, with the same route, the same group and the same guide. I'll start saving!
