Itinerary
- Day 1
Mountain Bisoke
You'll head out early from Park Headquarters in Kinigi to start your Mountain Bisoke hike. After meeting with your ranger guide for a briefing, the trail takes you through thick forests and opens up to wider landscapes as you gain elevation. Most hikers complete the roughly 6-hour trek, though if you're experienced you could finish in 3 hours or less. The payoff is reaching the crater lake at the summit where you can take photos and soak in the views. The descent gets you back to the starting point by late afternoon.

Twin Lakes Experience
Early departure around 7 am after breakfast from Musanze gets you to the Twin Lakes area in Musanze district. You'll walk through scenic terrain and wetlands, spotting water birds and taking in views of Mount Muhabura. The day involves trying local fishing methods and paddling out on a canoe to experience the lakes up close. Throughout the morning and afternoon you'll see volcanic reflections in the water and spend time meeting people from local communities. Activities run steady from start to finish with chances to relax between bird watching and exploring.

Rulindo Beekeeping Experience
After breakfast your driver guide picks you up from your hotel to head to Rulindo, which is known for beekeeping. You'll get hands-on with the whole process from building hives to collecting honey, and you'll wear protective gear while working with the bees. Skilled beekeepers show you how it's done and explain the nutritional, medicinal, and cooking uses for honey. You'll also learn how beekeeping helps communities and supports sustainable living. The drive back to Kigali in the afternoon wraps up the day.
