Trip date: August 2025 
Bhumika· June 26th, 2025We’re a family of five, and this trip to Zambia was truly one we’ll never forget. The first part of our journey took us to Mufulira, the town where my dad was born back in the 60s. Mark organised everything for us and made sure it all went smoothly. He actually grew up there himself, so it was a nostalgic experience for him too. What really stood out was how thoughtful he was, my mum’s a vegetarian, and he went out of his way to make sure her dietary needs were looked after. The second part of the trip was with Fines and our driver, Alick—and they were both just fantastic. Kind, funny, and full of knowledge about the places we visited. Thanks to them, we got to see and learn so much we wouldn’t have been able to on our own. There was so much history everywhere we went, and they brought it to life in such an engaging way. The safari at Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park was unforgettable, we had an incredibly close (and slightly thrilling!) encounter with an elephant. We also did a boat cruise through the park with the Radisson Blu, which was really relaxing and beautiful. Victoria Falls was just as amazing as we imagined, breathtaking in every sense. One of the other highlights was a day trip to Chobe National Park in Botswana, which also included a lovely boat ride. Another great adventure! On the last day, my dad realised he’d left his wallet in Livingstone. Without hesitation, Mark arranged for someone to bring it all the way to Lusaka. It was such a kind gesture and really summed up the care and attention we experienced throughout the trip. Honestly, this was one of the best holidays we’ve ever had. We were all really sad to say goodbye. If you’re thinking of exploring Zambia, I can’t recommend Lochinvar Safaris enough. He takes you to places you would never go if you drive yourself from Lusaka to Livingstone. We heard a lot about the history of Zambia. The accommodations where you stay are good, don't expect a top location though, that's not possible for the price you pay. Along the way you eat at local entrepreneurs, particularly nice. At the lodge in Livingstone there is Lochinvar's own cook, who prepares the food. So you eat Zambian, fine. Breakfast is English (the same every morning). The stops along the way, the museums all fine! Park Mosi-o-Tunya in Livingstone is disappointing, it is really focused on the rhino, which you can see up close, for the rest not much wildlife to see. The river safari is top! On the free day we went rafting, Mark arranges this excellently! We started the day with swimming under the waterfall, highly recommended, then rafted, very nice experience! We went back to Lusaka by plane. Every evening there is a short briefing about the next day, the planning is regularly very flexible.
