- LHLuke· September 7th, 2025Climbing Kilimanjaro has always been a dream of mine, and Lights on Africa Destinations & Safaris made that dream come true. We chose the Machame Route because there are different ways to get up and down, and the views along the way are truly incredible. At the end of each day's walk, tents were set up in advance, and hot meals were prepared - making the experience much more comfortable. I liked the Barranco Wall the most, where I felt a strange mysterious beauty while climbing through the fog of the mountain. The guide and the team were very professional, always encouraged us, and gave us the time we needed to adjust to the altitude.
