Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Kathmandu to Syabrubesi

    You'll start early with breakfast in Kathmandu, then drive north through the Trishuli Valley heading toward Syabrubesi. The road passes through Dhunche and follows the Trishuli river, where you can see Ganesh Himal, terraced fields, and small villages along the way. Once you arrive at Syabrubesi, there's time to walk around and soak in the riverside hot spring to relax after the drive.

  2. Day 2

    Syabrubesi to Lama Hotel

    Your trek kicks off following the BhoteKosi and Langtang rivers through jungle and terraced farmland with rural settlements. You'll walk through bamboo and birch groves where red pandas occasionally show up if you're lucky. The trail goes upward gradually to Rimche at 2,400m/7,874 feet, then continues to Lama Hotel where you'll stay the night.

  3. Day 3

    Lama Hotel to Langtang Village

    After early breakfast, you head along the river through thick forest, then the trail climbs upward through dense woodland. The valley opens up at GhoraTabela (3,030m/9,941 feet) where an army checkpoint is located. From there you'll continue past Chyamki village, seeing chortens, water mills, mani walls, and prayer wheels before reaching Langtang Village, a Tamang settlement with a monastery nearby.

  4. Day 4

    Langtang Village to Kyanjin Gompa

    You'll have breakfast and then take a short, easy trek at this higher elevation to help your body adjust. The path crosses small plateaus, passes large mani walls, yak pastures, and villages with water mills and prayer wheels. By the end of the day you'll reach Kyanjin Gompa, an old monastery with great views of the surrounding snow-capped peaks.

  5. Day 5

    Kyanjin Gompa Exploration Day

    This day focuses on acclimatization and exploring the area around you. Head to the monastery to learn about Buddhism and potentially watch monks during prayer, then check out the cheese factory. If you want more activity, optional hikes go to Langshisa Kharka and the Tserko Ri viewpoint (5,450m/17,880 feet), the trek's highest point, where you can see Langtang Lirung (7,227m/23,711 feet) and Langtang II (6,586m/21,608 feet). You'll make your way back to Kyanjin Gompa as evening falls.

  6. Day 6

    Kyanjin Gompa to Lama Hotel

    After taking one more look at the mountains, you'll head back down from Kyanjin Gompa, retracing your path through Langtang Village. You'll stop for lunch at GhoraTabela where the army checkpoint registers your exit. From there the trek continues downward through dense forest in the river valley, eventually reaching Lama Hotel for the night.

  7. Day 7

    Lama Hotel to Syabrubesi

    Your final trekking day involves heading down to Syabrubesi following the Langtang river through the river valley. You'll descend through bamboo and birch forests, cross over the Langtang and BhoteKoshi rivers, and arrive back at Syabrubesi where the trek started. You'll stay here overnight before the drive back to Kathmandu tomorrow.

    Syabrubesi to Kathmandu

    You'll drive from Syabrubesi back to Kathmandu early in the morning on a journey that takes roughly seven to nine hours. The drive follows the Trishuli river valley heading south through hills, passing terraced farmlands and meadows with possible last views of snow-capped mountains in the distance. Once you reach Kathmandu, you'll be dropped off at your hotel.

Assuming your home country does not have a visa agreement with the country you're planning to visit, you will need to apply for a visa in advance of your scheduled departure.
    • Here is an indication for which countries you might need a visa. Please contact the local embassy for help applying for visas to these places.
  • Payment information
    • For any tour departing before December 23rd, 2025 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after December 23rd, 2025, a minimum payment of 15% is required to confirm your booking with Discovery World Trekking. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 40 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
    • Some departure dates and prices may vary and Discovery World Trekking will contact you with any discrepancies before your booking is confirmed.
