Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Kathmandu to Pokhara

A tourist bus picks you up from your Kathmandu hotel early in the morning for the drive to Pokhara. The journey takes about 6 hours through varied terrain, and it's mainly a travel day to get you to where your trek actually begins. You'll arrive in Pokhara with time to settle in before evening.

    Start point
Kathmandu, Bagmati, Nepal (Pick up hotel Kathmandu (Bhaktapur & Patan not included), 06:00 - 08:00)
    Meals
Breakfast (Breakfast included in Pokhara hotel room)
  2. Day 2

    Pokhara to Pitam Deurali

After a short drive to Dhampus, you'll start hiking on what's meant to be an easy first day. The trail heads toward Pitam Deurali, a mountain ridge where you get your initial look at the Annapurna range. It's a nice way to ease into the trek without overdoing it.

    Included Activities

    • Trek to Pitam Deurali
    • Guided mountain trek with certified English-speaking guide

    Optional Activities

    • Porter service for carrying luggage
    Landmarks
    Annapurna Mountain Range
  3. Day 3

    Pitam Deurali to Forest Camp

Your hike today takes you through rhododendron forest that's typical of this region in Nepal. You're working your way to Forest Camp, going deeper into the mountain wilderness with each step. The forest walk is gradual and gives you a real sense of moving into the backcountry.

    Included Activities

    • Hike through Nepal rhododendron forest to Forest Camp
    • Guided mountain trek with certified English-speaking guide

    Optional Activities

    • Porter service for carrying luggage
  4. Day 4

    Forest Camp to Middle Camp

Leaving Forest Camp, you'll see Machapuchre (also called Fishtail Mountain) come into view. By lunchtime, you reach Low Camp, then continue climbing in the afternoon to Middle Camp. The scenery shifts as you gain elevation, and you're getting closer to the ridge now.

    Included Activities

    • Trek with views of Machapuchre (Fishtail Mountain)
    • Hike from Low Camp to Middle Camp
    • Guided mountain trek with certified English-speaking guide

    Optional Activities

    • Porter service for carrying luggage
    Landmarks
    Machapuchre (Fishtail Mountain)
  5. Day 5

    Middle Camp to High Camp

Today is a steady climb from Middle Camp up to High Camp on the Mardi Himal ridge. The ascent isn't too aggressive, and once you arrive, you'll have 360-degree views all around you. It's the kind of spot where you really feel like you're on top of things.

    Included Activities

    • Climb from Middle Camp to High Camp
    • 360-degree panoramic views from Mardi Himal ridge
    • Guided mountain trek with certified English-speaking guide

    Optional Activities

    • Porter service for carrying luggage
    Landmarks
    Mardi Himal Ridge
  6. Day 6

High Camp to Mardi Himal Viewpoint

You'll start well before sunrise for the hike to the Mardi Himal viewpoint, so you can be there as the light comes up. From here, you look down toward Annapurna Base Camp, and the glaciers of Annapurna I are visible in clear detail. This is the high point of your trek, literally and experience-wise.

    Included Activities

    • Early morning hike to Mardi Himal viewpoint
    • Views of Annapurna Base Camp and Annapurna I glaciers
    • Guided mountain trek with certified English-speaking guide

    Optional Activities

    • Porter service for carrying luggage
    Landmarks
    Mardi Himal Viewpoint
    Annapurna I
  7. Day 7

    High Camp to Sidhing

Now you're heading down from the ridge through the forest toward Sidhing. The descent lets your body recover after several days of climbing. You're retracing part of your route but in reverse, making your way back down to lower elevation.

    Included Activities

    • Descent through forest to Sidhing
    • Guided mountain trek with certified English-speaking guide

    Optional Activities

    • Porter service for carrying luggage
  8. Day 8

    Sidhing to Lumre to Pokhara

A short hike brings you to Lumre, which marks the end of your trekking. From there, it's a couple of hours' drive back to Pokhara where you can relax by Phewa Lake. After days in the mountains, this is your chance to unwind before heading back to the city.

    Meals
Breakfast (Breakfast included in Pokhara hotel room)

    Included Activities

    • Final hike to Lumre
    • Guided mountain trek with certified English-speaking guide

    Optional Activities

    • Porter service for carrying luggage
    Landmarks
    Phewa Lake
  9. Day 9

    Pokhara to Kathmandu

The final day is a 6-hour bus ride from Pokhara back to Kathmandu on a tourist bus. You'll be dropped off at your hotel where you started. It's a long drive, so settle in and reflect on the trek as you head back to the valley.

    End point
Kathmandu, Bagmati, Nepal (Drop off hotel Kathmandu (Bhaktapur & Patan not included), 15:00 - 22:00)
