Itinerary
- Day 1
Ulaanbaatar
You'll land at Genghis Khaan International Airport and get transferred to your hotel. Take some time to clean up and rest after your flight before settling in for the evening.
- Day 2
Ulaanbaatar
The city tour kicks off at 9:00am, starting with Gandan Monastery and the National History Museum. From there you'll see Sukhbaatar Square and check out the Bogd Khan Palace Museum before heading up to Zaisan Memorial for views across the city. Grab lunch at Modern Nomads restaurant, then in the evening catch a traditional Mongolian song and dance performance from the Tumen-Ekh ensemble.

Mongol Els
You'll drive out to Mongol Els sand dunes, which stretch for 80km and span 9-10km wide, surrounded by hills and willow trees. After lunch at the ger camp, visit a camel breeder family to get a feel for nomadic life. Then ride a two-humped Bactrian camel across the dunes before heading back to camp for dinner.

Landmarks Mongol Els - Day 4
Orkhon Waterfall
Drive to Hugnu Khan Mt National Park with its rocky mountains, semi-desert, and sand dune steppes. Continue on to Orkhon Waterfall, which drops 24 meters and ranks as the largest waterfall in central Mongolia. The evening is yours to explore and swim if you're interested. You'll have dinner and stay at the ger camp.

- Day 5
Karakorum
Head to Karakorum, the ancient capital of the Mongolian Empire from the 13th century. Walk through the historic sights and visit Erdenezuu, the oldest Buddhist monastery here with its 108 stupas. Tour the Karakorum Museum and have some free time to wander around before returning to the ger camp.

Tsenkher Hot Spa
After breakfast, drive to Tsenkher Hot Spa, a natural hot spring that flows year-round at 85.5°C/185°F and sits at 1,860 meters elevation. You'll bathe in the therapeutic waters surrounded by mountains. Later in the evening, visit a local nomad family to see how they live, try airag (fermented horse milk), and help out with herding.

Taikhar Rock
Travel to Arkhangai province and tour Tsetserleg, a city of about 20,000 people with tree-lined streets, scenic mountains, and a local temple. Explore Tamir Valley with its mix of mountains, forests, grasslands, and rivers. Spend time hiking and taking photos. Later, have dinner and stay overnight near the legendary Taikhar Rock.

Ugii Lake
After a 2-hour drive, you'll reach Ugii Lake, a freshwater steppe lake at 1,337 meters elevation that stretches 7.9km long and 5km wide. Check into the ger camp and have lunch. The afternoon is for relaxing by the lake. You can go boating, fishing, hiking, or bird watching since over 150 bird species and 10 fish species live here. Dinner and overnight at camp.

Landmarks Ugii Lake - Day 9
Hustai National Park
Drive to Hustai National Park, where the Mongolian Wild Horse (Przewalski horse/Takhi) roams. Stop at the Project Information ger center to learn how over 220 wild horses have been successfully brought back to the steppes since 1992. A guided tour through the park offers great photo opportunities, and you might spot deer, eagles, and other wildlife too. Return to camp for the night.

Landmarks Hustai National Park - Day 10
Ulaanbaatar
Your tour starts at 9:00am with a drive back to Ulaanbaatar. On the way, stop at Mongol Nomadic Ger Camp for a real demonstration of traditional Mongolian life, including breeding five kinds of livestock and moving using ox, yak, camel, and horse carts. Have lunch with Mongolian food. The afternoon gives you time for last-minute sightseeing and shopping for souvenirs, cashmere, leather goods, and handicrafts. Clean up and head out for a farewell dinner.
