- Day 1
Kathmandu
You'll arrive in Kathmandu, Nepal's historic capital situated in a valley at 1,450 meters (4,757 feet). The city has changed very little since medieval times and serves as the cultural heart of the country. Seven UNESCO World Heritage Sites call Kathmandu home, earning it the nickname 'city of temples.' After you land, you can settle into your accommodation and walk around the old city streets to get oriented. The architecture and temple complexes throughout the center give you a real sense of the place's long history.

Annapurna Region
From Kathmandu, you'll head into the Annapurna region in Central Nepal, one of the best trekking areas around. This region covers over 2,600 square kilometers with incredibly varied terrain. You'll see sub-tropical lowlands and bamboo forests at lower elevations, then alpine meadows and windswept desert plateaus as you go higher. The Annapurna Mountains themselves create the dramatic backdrop throughout. The trekking routes here let you experience all these different landscapes over several days, moving from lush green valleys to high altitude scenery.

- Day 3
Annapurna Region
You'll continue deeper into the Annapurna Conservation Area, where the landscape and cultures keep changing as you trek. The region is home to Brahmins, Chettris, Newars, Gurungs, Magars, Manangis, and Tibetan communities, each with their own traditions and villages. Moving through the terrain, you'll pass through sub-tropical valleys with rice terraces, then transition into higher altitude alpine meadows. Each day brings new perspectives on how different communities live in these varied environments, from lower elevations to mountain settlements.
