Arrival in Kathmandu
You'll get picked up at Tribhuvan International Airport and head to your hotel. If the flight didn't wipe you out, take a walk through Thamel, which has plenty of shops, restaurants, and local energy. Oriental Journeys hosts a welcome dinner for you in the evening.

Kathmandu
Your guide takes you around Kathmandu to see several UNESCO World Heritage sites. You'll check out Kathmandu Durbar Square with its medieval Nepali architecture, then head to Swayambhunath (the Monkey Temple), Pashupatinath Shiva Temple, and Bouddhanath, which is the largest Buddhist stupa in South Asia.

Kathmandu
Get an early start to catch sunrise from Nagarkot viewpoint. After that, you'll visit Patan Durbar Square, a UNESCO site where you can see the Krishna Temple carved from a single rock along with other architecture and arts. Later in the day, head to Bhaktapur to walk through the traditional city. There you'll see Nyatapole Temple, the Golden Gate, and the 55 Window Palace, each showing something different about the local culture.

Kathmandu to Chitwan
After an early breakfast, the drive to Chitwan takes you over 150 kilometers along the scenic Trishuli River as you descend into a different landscape. Once you arrive, the staff will go over what activities you can do during your stay. In the evening, you'll have dinner with a cultural performance by the Tharu people.

- Day 5
Chitwan
You'll head out before breakfast for a jeep safari through the jungle. After breakfast, go to the elephant stables and watch the live bathing of elephants. By noon, you can choose between another jungle drive or a boat ride on the Rapti River where you might see mugger crocodiles, dolphins, and water birds.

Chitwan to Kathmandu
Start the morning with bird watching before breakfast. The park has over 500 bird species including migrant birds. After eating, you'll drive back to Kathmandu, arriving by evening for a farewell dinner.

Departure from Kathmandu
