Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Kathmandu to Lukla to Phakding

    You'll catch an early domestic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, watching mountain views come into focus as you descend. Once you land, there's time to shake off the flight before trekking to Phakding. The trail follows the Dudh Koshi river and takes you across suspension bridges, passing mani stones and prayer flags along the way. You'll see Karyolung, Nupla, and Gongla mountains as the path descends, with stops for tea or lunch built into the day.

  2. Day 2

    Phakding to Namche Bazaar

    After breakfast, you trek to Namche Bazaar on a trail that climbs steeply through dense forests. The route crosses swaying suspension bridges over rivers as you work your way up the mountain. It's a long day of hiking, but when you reach Namche Bazaar near sunset, you'll see golden light hitting the surrounding mountains, which makes the effort worthwhile.

  3. Day 3

    Namche Bazaar to Tengboche

    Starting early with breakfast, you'll walk through narrow trails with clear views of Mount Amadablam, Mount Tabuchi, and Mount Thamserku. After a few hours of trekking, you'll arrive at the hilltop village of Tengboche, which sits at a higher elevation and offers different perspectives on the mountains around you.

    Tengboche to Dingboche

    The trek starts with gradual climbs that get steeper as you move through rhododendron forests. You'll pass countless mani stones before reaching Pangboche, then keep ascending toward Dingboche. Along the way, yaks graze on the slopes around you, and you'll have clear views of Mount Lhotse, Amadablam, and Taboche coming into sight.

    The trail climbs gradually before you cross a suspension bridge heading to Thukla. From there, a steeper section takes you to Lobuche Pass where colorful prayer flags hang, the Khagan Chorten sits, and hundreds of cairn memorials mark the cemetery ground. The mountain views from this pass are exceptional before you settle in for the night.

    Lobuche to Everest Base Camp to Gorak Shep

    You'll reach Everest Base Camp today. After breakfast, you trek through wide trails to Gorak Shep, passing views of Khumbu Glacier. After resting there, you'll head to Everest Base Camp itself where Mount Everest comes into full view, along with Mt. Nuptse, Mt Pumori, Mt. Khumbutse, and Mt. Lingtren. You'll spend time taking in the moment before returning to Gorak Shep for the night.

    Gorak Shep to Kala Patthar to Pheriche

    Early in the morning, you hike to Kala Patthar to see panoramic views and the Khumbu Glacier from a different vantage point. After soaking in the scenery, you'll trek back down to Gorak Shep and then continue descending to Pheriche for the night.

    Namche Bazaar to Lukla
