Itinerary
- Day 1
Maishofen
You'll arrive at Schloss Kammer palace in Maishofen and get checked in to your accommodation. After settling in, there's a welcome briefing with a drink to kick things off, and you'll receive your route descriptions and pick up the navigation app so you're all set for the hiking days ahead.
Landmarks/POIs Schloss Kammer - Day 2
Maishofen
This morning you'll take a scenic walk using Maishofen's ridgeway to reach the mountain guesthouse Mitterberghof, where you can take a break and soak in the panoramic mountain views. From there, the route heads downhill past Hubertus chapel and into Thumersbach, then follows along Lake Zell where there's a lido if you want to stop by. You'll pass through Mayerhofen and Steinberg mountain before heading back to Schloss Kammer to finish the day.

Sportregion Saalbach
A bus takes you to the Sportregion Saalbach area where your hike begins at Hinterglemm Mitterlengau. You'll head into the valley passing Forsthof alp, then continue through Saal alp and Lindling alp. Later, you'll cross a suspension bridge to reach the Baumwipfelweg treetop walkway before the bus brings you back to Maishofen.

Landmarks/POIs Baumwipfelweg Sportregion Saalbach - Day 4
Zell am See
You'll travel by bus to Zell am See and board the Schmittenbahn cable car heading up to Schmittenhöhe's peak at 1,965 meters/6,445 feet. From there you can see across Lake Zell and out to the surrounding 3,000-meter peaks. After visiting Elisabeth Chapel, the hike takes you down through Sonnkogel and Sonn alp back to Zell am See where you can walk around the city before the bus returns you to Maishofen.

Schwalbenwand
Starting directly from Schloss Kammer, you'll ascend Schwalbenwand, Maishofen's local mountain at 2,011 meters/6,598 feet, using a variety of trails to get to the top. The summit gives you panoramic views of the snow-covered Hohe Tauern peaks, the Steinerne Meer, and the local grassy mountains all around. On the way down you'll pass through Kammeregg alp where there's a refreshment break with cider and bacon sandwich.

Landmarks/POIs Schwalbenwand Hohe Tauern Kammeregg Alp - Day 6
Maishofen
Your final hike is a leisurely one that follows the young Saalach river to Ratzenstein-Höhe along the Stammgäste-Weg trail. You'll then continue through forested mountain ranges to Neunbrunnen and down to the idyllic Waldsee lake for a rest break. After that, the route takes you comfortably across fields and meadows back to Schloss Kammer to finish your hiking week.
