- Maria· September 17th, 2025Our guide, Peter, in Egypt was absolutely outstanding! He was professional, knowledgeable, and always attentive to the needs of the group. His explanations of history and culture were clear and fascinating, and he made the whole experience unforgettable. Thanks to Peter, our trip was truly special. We highly recommend him to anyone visiting Egypt.Show moreItaca Holiday commented on this reviewThank you so much for your kind words! - RRossana· April 29th, 2025Automatic translation available in English. View in EnglishThanks to Ihab for helping us from the beginning to organize our trip to Egypt. His collaboration and daily follow up made us feel accompanied and reassured the whole trip. Everything worked perfectly with the drivers and the guides in every place we visited. It is worth mentioning that the drivers were very kind and above all prudent in driving. The guides were very good in general, very well prepared professionals, they handled the language very well even with the terminology and also very polite and cordial. In Cairo we were with Isra, a young and well prepared girl, calm and smiling. She accompanied us on some wonderful visits: tour of the historical points of the city, the pyramids and museums mainly. Excellent introduction for what followed. The trip continues in Luxor with the visit to the temples of Karnak and Luxor and the Colossi of Memnon. This is a spectacular tour, unmissable, impressive and unforgettable. Our guide Josén did not like us but Ihab listened to us and solved us wonderfully for the following days of the trip. The visit in Luxor to the Valley of the Kings and the temple of Hatshepsut we did with Mohamad, an excellent guide. He allowed us to enjoy so much beauty in these two absolutely wonderful and incredible sites! Clearly a must-see of the trip. To finish the tour we traveled by car to Aswan stopping first at the temples of Edfu and Kom ombo. Each temple is surprising in its own way and has its own charm. We were fascinated by the experience in these temples thanks to Elham's excellent guide. He enchanted us in great detail entering with us in both temples, showing us and explaining us with grace, simplicity and ease. The last day of the trip is the most "heavy" because it is a long trip to get to Abu Simbel but I have to say that it is worth it. It is monumental, it is that monumental is small considering what is normally already monumental. Impressive dimensions, grandeur, beauty and not least the incredible work that UNESCO did to save this temple. The views, the desert, the Nile, Lake Nasser ... this must be seen in presence to understand the majesty. We had a guide, Samhy who accompanied us on this visit. To close with a flourish we visited the temple of Philae which is beautiful! We could not ask for more for an end of trip. The visit to the temple of Philae was beautiful. To get to the temple we had to take a short and very suggestive boat ride that takes us to the temple, a beautiful experience. Ayman our guide gave us very interesting detailed explanations with a lot of passion. Thanks to Ihab and the majestic beauties of a beautiful Egypt, more than I had imagined. We are looking forward to return to continue enjoying so many wonders, learning and exploring. THANK YOU to this great civilization for the culture, for the important legacy under so many aspects and its teachings. - MANAMI· April 8th, 2025This is the truly recommendable tour for all, especially who really want to have a qick learning around GIZA, and escape from usual life to be relaxed in SIWA. With very kind and knowledgeable guides, activities were smoothly going on and satisfied a lot. As this is a private tour, it was flexible enough, including additional visits those were found interests during the stay.Show moreTrip date: April 2025
- Nicolaj Vinkel· October 15th, 2023The Cruise was okay, but as a lot of people say in reviews egyptian 5 stars means European 2 or 3 stars. The ship was old, and not always that clean, the food was boring, and the sun deck was often covered in diesel smoke from all the ships docked together. However, a comfortable way to see a lot of temples from Luxor to Aswan. The communication to Itaca Holiday was poor and they were not very helpful. Often we had to write them the night before to get to know the program for the next day. The worst was, however, our second guide. First of all, she was 30 min late for a 2-hour excursion. Secondly, she tried to scam us into paying for some transport that was included, probably so she could just pocket the money herself. The only reason they get two stars is because Itaca Holidays offered us an extra tour as compensation for the bad experience, though we didn't have time to do this.Show moreTrip date: October 2023

- Victoria· June 27th, 2023This tour hits all the major sites, and we were met at each port by a knowledgeable tour guide. However, travelling in Egypt during the tourist low season meant that the harassment from street vendors of all kinds (including staff from the boat) was really bad and as two young women we rarely felt comfortable leaving the boat alone. Additionally, the intensity of personal attention on the boat was frankly overwhelming, the food was aggressively unappetising, and the multiple layer of subcontractors made communication challenging at times. Despite a great number of people telling me “as you like”, I rarely felt in control of my experience.Show moreTrip date: June 2023
- HGHannah· March 5th, 2023The combination of the Cruise, lying on the sun deck and riding along the nile with the cultural trips to great temples and monuments was nice! The things we saw were great and the relaxation on the deck was great! The service personal on the ship was very nice! The ship was outdated but the crew made the best of what they had! Cairo Pass tour was available all the time and answered to all of our needs if we needed something! That was impressive! But we did not get an itinerary and that is very important to have at the beginning of the trip with information about what time to get up, what time the ship leaves, what time lunch is, when there is free time, when we would go where etc... So we can relax and prepare ourselves. He also tried to organise as much as possible for us with extra trips without really asking us which combination or what kind of vacation or what trips were better suited for us. It was just assumed that we want to see as much as possible and he didnt give us advice if the extra trip, we paid for extra!, were actually worth it or if we could have done less and then more relaxing.. We did not get free water as it was written on the website. Cairo Pass tour did drive us to places to buy water but we still thought we would get free water, which was not the case. The drinks on the boat are too expensive! Cairo Pass tour is a very great trip organiser and was there for us for everything! But we were just too ill informed and felt like we were pushed into extra trips and costs we didnt necessarily need or at least not in the way or in the time slot that he wanted us to go, wich led to an unrelaxing and expensive vacation for us. Also the fact that one expects us to tip everyone although everything was already paid for, was unexplicable to us. But Cairo Pass Tour is a great guy!! And the sights we saw were amazing! My friend and me always had our own guide, so we werent in a big group, which was also very nice and special.Show moreTrip date: February 2023

Asked on August 21st, 2025Can you advise if there is an extra cost for a german guide? Can you advise the hotel name in Kairo? Would you be able to transfer to her hotel in Cairo on the last day from the airport in Cairo and is this included? Would the ship have alcoholic beverages and are these included in the price?
- Itaca HolidayOperator•Written August 2025
A German-speaking guide can certainly be arranged. The supplement for this service will be €100. The hotel in Cairo will be Locanda Museum hotel. Regarding the airport transfer on the last day: originally this is not included. However, as a gesture of appreciation for choosing our services, we will be happy to provide this transfer complimentary to ensure a smoother and more convenient experience. On the Nile Cruise, guests will enjoy full board (breakfast, lunch, and dinner included). Alcoholic beverages are not included in the package price, but they are available for purchase on board.

Traveler•Written March 2025The traveler will just have to let you know on their reservation that they need a French speaking guide and all good? The only additional cost would be the entrance fee for the sights that will be visited, which would amount to USD 125 per person, correct?
