Itinerary
- Day 1
Londorossi Gate to Lemosho
Your Kilimanjaro trek starts early with a drive to Londorossi main gate for registration and park procedures. You'll meet your professional mountain guide and game ranger before heading into the evergreen rainforest toward Lemosho glades. The hike takes around 4 hours to reach your first campsite, so you're easing into the climb on day one.

- Day 2
Lemosho to Shira 2
Today's a substantial day crossing the Shira Plateau through grassy moorland and heather, moving from Shira 1 Camp toward Shira 2. You'll pass volcanic rock formations and gain significant altitude with some steep sections along the way. Watch for Kibo Peak and the Northern Ice fields from the western side, and the plateau crossing helps your body start adjusting to the height while you take in the panoramic landscape.

- Day 3
Shira 2 to Barranco Camp
You'll ascend into the upland desert zone, walking beneath glaciers along lava ridges as you climb higher. By midday you reach Lava Tower at 4,640m/15,223ft, the high point for lunch with excellent views all around. After eating, the afternoon brings a steep descent to Barranco Camp at 3,960m/12,992ft, which sits in the Great Barranco Valley and is sheltered by tall cliffs with plains stretching out below.

- Day 4
Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp
Start by descending into the Great Barranco ravine, then you'll tackle the Great Barranco Wall, a long and tiring rock climb that's non-technical but physically demanding. From there you head toward the Karanga valley, passing under the Heim and Kersten glaciers. After climbing steeply from Karanga valley, you'll reach Karanga Camp at 3,963m/13,001ft. If you're feeling strong, many trekkers do an acclimatization hike to around 4,200m in the mid-afternoon before returning to rest.

- Day 5
Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp
Following breakfast and a solid night's sleep, you trek across barren scree slopes with no vegetation toward Barafu Camp at 4,640m/15,223ft. The steep climb is challenging, and the altitude makes it tougher. Once you arrive, you'll eat, rest, and prepare mentally for what's ahead. Stay hydrated and warm, then have an early dinner. You'll try to sleep before being woken around 11pm or midnight for the summit push.

- Day 6
Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak to Millennium Camp
Around midnight you begin the steep ascent to the summit glaciers, climbing scree for 4 to 5 hours while gaining incredible height over a short distance. You'll reach Stella Point (5,739m/18,828ft) as the sun rises, with spectacular crater rim views and ice cliffs surrounding you, plus views of Mawenzi peak. From there it's another hour to Uhuru Peak (5,895m/19,341ft), Kilimanjaro's true summit. After celebrating, you descend back to Stella Point then down the scree slopes to Barafu Camp for breakfast, then continue down to Millennium Camp where you can finally rest properly.

- Day 7
Millennium Camp to Mweka Gate to Moshi
A gentle trek brings you through the rainforest down to Mweka Gate where you'll complete final park procedures and receive your summit certificates. Your vehicles are waiting to drive you back to the hotel in Moshi for a long shower and a celebration dinner. You'll spend two nights in Moshi with breakfast included while you recover from your accomplishment.
