Itinerary
- Day 1
Athens to Epidavros
You'll start by leaving Athens and heading toward the Corinth Canal, where there's a nice spot for photos and coffee with a view. The Museum and Archaeological site of Ancient Corinth comes next, giving you a sense of what life was like in this important ancient city. From there, it's on to Palaia Epidavros, a small coastal village on the Saronic Gulf where you can swim and grab lunch by the water. Later in the day, you'll visit Asklepieion and the Theatre of Epidavros, which is a UNESCO site known for having incredible acoustics. Dinner happens at a historic tavern in Lygourio, and if you're traveling July through August, there's an option to catch an evening performance. You'll stay overnight in one of three towns: Epidavros, Nafplio, or Tolo.

- Day 2
Tolo to Nafplio
The day starts from Tolo with a hired small cruise boat, and you'll be swimming, fishing, and snorkeling around the small bays and uninhabited islands in the Argolic Gulf. You'll catch fish, clean them right there, and grill them on a desert island before eating with local wine. After that experience, you head to Mycenae, a UNESCO World Heritage site where you can see the Gate of the Lions, the Royal Palace, the Treasury of Atreus, and the Tomb of Klytemnestra. Then it's to Nafplio, a former Greek capital with narrow winding streets that are fun to walk through. You'll climb the 999 steps up the Venetian Palamidi Castle for views over the town and surrounding area. The evening wraps up with dinner and clubbing in Nafplio.

- Day 3
Ancient Nemea to Ancient Olympia
You'll begin at the Temple of Hercules in Kleones and the Spring of Adrastos, then move to Ancient Nemea where you can walk by the Temple of Zeus, run in the Ancient Stadium, and look around the archaeological site. The route takes you up to the Arcadian plateau, passing through traditional villages, and you'll stop for lunch at one of them. Later, you arrive at Ancient Olympia, a UNESCO World Heritage site. There's the Archaeological Museum with the famous statue of Hermes of Praxiteles, plus the archaeological site itself. You'll see the Temple of Zeus, which was one of the seven wonders of the ancient world, walk through the ancient stadium, and see where the Olympic flame gets lit. Dinner at a local tavern wraps up the day.

- Day 4
Ancient Messini to Karytaina
An early start takes you to Ancient Messini, a major archaeological site in the western foothills of Mount Ithomi, with a well-preserved layout based on the Hippodameian system. After exploring there, you circle back through the Arcadia region around Mount Lycaion. Next comes Lycosoura, an archaeological site that mythology says was the first city seen by the sun. You'll check out Agia Theodora's Church, a pilgrimage destination with 17 holly and maple trees growing from its roof. Lunch is by the river at a tavern with local food. You'll then head to the Temple of Apollo Epicurius at Bassae, a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the best-preserved structures from classical antiquity. The traditional village of Andritsaina is a stop for refreshment before finishing in Karytaina, an amphitheatrical citadel with a mountain castle, where dinner offers views of Mount Lycaion.

- Day 5
Ancient Gortys to Dimitsana
You'll depart for Ancient Gortys, but the journey there includes an exciting rafting experience down the River Lousios starting from Asticholos Bridge. The raft moves through clear water surrounded by plants and trees creating a natural tunnel overhead. After rafting, there's a light meal before you visit the archaeological site of Ancient Gortys. Then comes an uphill but fairly manageable walk through the beautiful Lousios Gorge to reach the Monastery of Prodromos. Later, you arrive in Dimitsana, a historic amphitheatrical village where you'll visit the Water Power Museum, which shows how hydraulic power was important to traditional life in this region.

- Day 6
Dimitsana to Tripoli to Athens
The journey from Dimitsana to Tripoli takes you through stone villages like Stemnitsa, Elati, Vytina, and Levidi, all set among thick pine forests along the Mainalon trail. You'll stop at a central square for a drink and views of the authentic Arcadian landscape. There's time to check out remarkable caves in the heart of Arcadia, then you'll visit a local winery for tasting Moschofilero and Agiorgitiko wines and trying local food. In the afternoon, you'll wander around Tripoli's center, a significant historical town and the capital of the Peloponnese region, as you prepare to head back to Athens.
