Itinerary
- Day 1
Dar es Salaam to Selous Game Reserve
You'll leave Dar es Salaam in the morning with a boxed lunch packed for the drive to Selous Game Reserve. By late afternoon you'll arrive and head straight out for your first game drive along the Rufiji River. The landscape here is different from what you might expect, with plenty of elephant, lion, buffalo, giraffe, and hippo visible from the vehicle. Once back at camp, you'll have dinner and settle in for the night.

Selous Game Reserve
After breakfast, the full day is yours to explore Selous Game Reserve with your guide. You'll move through different sections of the reserve, and the photography opportunities are really strong here, whether you're capturing wildlife or landscapes. As the largest game reserve in Africa, it holds massive elephant herds plus lion, wild dog, buffalo, zebra, and greater kudu. You'll return to camp as evening falls, have dinner, and stay overnight.

Selous Game Reserve to Mikumi National Park
Following breakfast, you'll do a wilderness walking safari with an armed ranger, which gives you a completely different perspective on the animals and landscape compared to being in a vehicle. On foot you'll encounter giraffe, gazelle, zebra, hyena, and buffalo up close. After this, you'll check out and travel through remote, untouched country to reach Mikumi National Park. You'll arrive in the evening, check into your new camp, and have dinner.

Mikumi National Park to Dar es Salaam
After breakfast, you'll check out and take your final game drive across Mikumi's plains looking for kudu, antelope, gazelle, lion, cheetah, and hyena. Around midday you'll stop for lunch at a designated picnic site. In the afternoon, you'll head back toward Dar es Salaam and get dropped off at your specified location in the city, finishing your safari.
