Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Kathmandu

    You'll arrive at Kathmandu airport where your Himalayan Exploration Treks representative will be waiting to meet you. From there, it's a transfer to your hotel where you can settle in, freshen up, and start getting ready for the trek that's coming up over the next few days.

  2. Day 2

    Kathmandu to Pokhara

    The drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara takes you through some nice scenic terrain along the Trisuli and Marsyandi rivers. You'll see landscapes change as you head toward Pokhara, and it's a good chance to relax after arriving and get acclimated before the trekking begins.

  3. Day 3

    Pokhara to Tikhedunga

    You'll drive about 2 hours to Nayapul, then start your trek from there. The hike to Tikhedunga takes roughly 2 hours 30 minutes, and you'll stay overnight in a tea-house once you arrive. It's a solid introduction to the trail without being too demanding on day one.

  4. Day 4

    Tikhedunga to Ghorepani

    Day two involves a steep climb up to Ulleri followed by a more gradual trek through the forest as you head toward Ghorepani. The terrain gets progressively easier after that initial push, and by evening you'll be settled at your tea-house in Ghorepani.

  5. Day 5

    Ghorepani to Tadapani

    You'll wake early and hike for about 1 hour 30 minutes up to Poon Hill to catch the sunrise. The 360-degree views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri massifs are the main reason for the early start, and after that you'll head on to Tadapani where breakfast is waiting for you.

  6. Day 6

    Tadapani to Ghandruk

    After having breakfast, you'll trek to Ghandruk by walking through the Rhododendron forest. The path is pleasant and goes through some beautiful terrain as you work your way down to the village of Ghandruk where you'll stay for the night.

  7. Day 7

    Ghandruk to Pokhara

    The descent to Nayapul takes around 4 hours, and from there you'll catch a bus or taxi back to Pokhara. Some people prefer arranging a direct bus or jeep straight from Ghandruk to Pokhara, which saves a bit of time if you want to skip the walk down.

  8. Day 8

    Pokhara

    You'll have time in Pokhara to wander around and check out what the city has to offer. There's sightseeing to do around town, whether that's checking out the lakeside area or exploring local neighborhoods at your own pace.

  9. Day 9

    Pokhara to Kathmandu

    You'll take a tourist bus back to Kathmandu from Pokhara. The drive takes several hours, but it's a comfortable way to travel and gives you time to relax after the trek and reflect on the past week.

  10. Day 10

    Kathmandu

    It's time to head to Kathmandu airport for your departure back home. You'll transfer from your hotel to the airport and start making your way back to your home country after finishing your Himalayan trek.

    • Unfortunately we cannot offer you a visa application service. Whether you need a visa or not depends on your nationality and where you wish to travel. Assuming your home country does not have a visa agreement with the country you're planning to visit, you will need to apply for a visa in advance of your scheduled departure.
    • Here is an indication for which countries you might need a visa. Please contact the local embassy for help applying for visas to these places.
  • Payment information
    • For any tour departing before February 12th, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after February 12th, 2026, a minimum payment of 25% is required to confirm your booking with Himalayan Exploration. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 60 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
    • Some departure dates and prices may vary and Himalayan Exploration will contact you with any discrepancies before your booking is confirmed.
