Luang Prabang to Khmu Village
Start your adventure at Tiger Trail Cafe and Bikeshop in Luang Prabang where your guide will get you fitted on a quality mountain bike. From there, you'll ride 81 km along the Nam Ou River through river valleys and mountain terrain to reach a Khmu village homestay. This route requires intermediate to strong cycling fitness since you'll encounter varied terrain and hills along the way. After dinner, you'll spend the evening getting to know your host family and getting a feel for village life.

- Day 2
Khmu Village to Nong Khiaw
Following breakfast in the village, you'll bike 61 km toward Nong Khiaw, arriving in the afternoon. Your guide shows you around this remote river settlement and takes you to try local food for dinner. You'll stay overnight at Nong Khiaw Riverside Lodge, which sits right on the Nam Ou River with jungle-covered mountains rising up all around you.

Nong Khiaw to Muang Ngoi
Take it easy this morning with breakfast at the lodge, then head out on a long-tail boat ride in late morning. The boat travels 19 km upriver through jungle and mountains to Muang Ngoi, a remote village surrounded by mountain peaks. Your guide leads you on a hike through a valley to explore a local cave and visit nearby villages. You'll have the evening free to relax and soak in the quiet landscape before tomorrow's more active day.

Muang Ngoi to Khmu Village
Start early with a private boat ride back from Muang Ngoi to Nong Khiaw where your kayaks are waiting. You'll paddle 14 km on calm river waters through scenic jungle landscape to reach a riverside Khmu village for the night. After settling in, your guide takes you on the famous 100 Waterfall tour, hiking up through cascading waterfalls as you work your way upstream. Back at the village, dinner is prepared by your host family and shared with your guide for a real cultural experience.

Khmu Village to Luang Prabang
On your final day, paddle for 1.5 hours down the Nam Ou River on calm water with jungle mountains flanking both sides. You'll stop at a small Khmu village of roughly 50 families along the riverbanks to walk around. A support boat travels with you so you can paddle the full 23 km or take it easier if preferred. Then you'll meet your truck and visit Pak Ou Cave where the Nam Ou and Mekong Rivers meet. Lunch comes with views of both rivers and the cave. Before heading back to Luang Prabang in the late afternoon, you'll stop at Ban Xiang Hai to browse local crafts and traditional rice whiskey.
