Itinerary
- Day 1
Colombo/Negombo/Mount Lavinia to Kandy
A driver picks you up from Colombo Airport or your hotel in Negombo or Mount Lavinia for the drive to Kandy. Once you arrive, the day is free for you to settle in and use the hotel facilities at your own pace.

Kandy
After breakfast, you'll visit three ancient temples located close to each other: Embekke, Lankathilaka, and Gadaladeniya. From there, head back to Kandy for a city tour covering the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, Bahirawakanda Buddha statue, Kandy Lake, and a gem lapidary with art center. Later in the afternoon, catch a traditional cultural show with drummers, fire dancers, and other performances that showcase Sri Lankan traditions.

Kandy to Dambulla
Following breakfast, you'll see Nalanda Gedige, an ancient stone temple from the 7th to 11th centuries that blends Sinhalese and Tamil architecture. Next, visit a wood carving factory where you can try carving yourself and learn about this traditional craft. In the late afternoon, explore Dambulla Rock Cave Temple, one of Asia's most impressive cave temple complexes with five caves and over 2,000 square meters of painted walls and ceilings.

- Day 4
Polonnaruwa and Sigiriya
After breakfast, you're driven to Polonnaruwa, a UNESCO World Heritage site with well-preserved ancient dagobas, moonstones, massive buildings, and statues plus the Sea of Parakrama, a vast 12th-century reservoir. Later in the day, you'll head to Sigiriya Rock Fortress, the 5th-century fortress built by King Kashyapa, known for its distinctive shape, water gardens, and the lion carved at the base.

Anuradhapura and Mihintale
After breakfast, drive to Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka's first kingdom and a UNESCO World Heritage Site with well-preserved ancient ruins. You'll see the oldest historically documented tree on earth (grown from a branch of Buddha's enlightenment tree), explore massive dagobas like Ruwanveliseya, Abhayagiriya, and Jetavanaramaya, and check out the Brazen Palace, Twin Ponds, Samadhi Buddha Statue, and Isurumuniya temple with its rock carvings. In the afternoon, visit Mihintale, the birthplace of Buddhism in Sri Lanka where an important meeting took place in 250 BC.

Yapahuwa to Negombo
After breakfast, you'll visit Yapahuwa, the 4th kingdom and 13th-century royal residence that housed the Sacred Tooth Relic of Buddha for 11 years. This rock fortress complex has the remains of a stupa, a Bodhi tree, and rock shelters used by Buddhist monks, with similarities to Sigiriya. Afterward, you're driven to your hotel in Negombo.
